I think it looks rather nice. Car would be faster with a GT style wing, but this is suppose to be based on the production model so...

It's considered ghetto around here, especially on the Nordschleife. It would also be ghetto for a professional team like Gazoo. Simply too much risks on the Nordschleife using spacers. Especially in the Karussell.

Sometimes when the factory gives you a crappy bolt pattern that most wheel manufactures don't use...i.e. 5x100, you have limited choices on wheel selections. And the good wheels that you do want, come in offsets that you don't. Only option at that point is to run spacers. Using laundry tubes used for a dryer as your brake ducting can be viewed as ghetto, but whatever gets the job done, gets the job done.

In the middle east we have the 3.5 Toyota Aurion this car run like hell!! and in Australia they have they TRD Version!! imagine this 3.5 in the FT + a TRD Blower!!! the car will be a beast!! i really hope Toyota go to a Boxer + V6 rout!
I think you've missed the point of this vehicle and would be happier picking something else..

AC.. radio.. seat with sensors like all pass seats have now, sound deadening that likely was never installed in the race car, other console parts, all airbags (all 10 or whatever it'll have), rear seat stuff, spare tire/tools/etc..

It's definately possible to see that weight difference. Our 2,650lb curb weight integra weighs just over 2,200lbs with a full tank in race trim - and that's a car without all those additional airbags and crap, just 2..

I hope it's only a couple hundred pound difference here, but the race weight of the car really doesn't give us any real information to decide on the production cars weight.

AC alone will add quite alot of weight, upwards of 100lbs right? I hope the difference between the race weight ft and production isn't as large as the difference between your race-weight integra and the production curb weight ~450lbs. That would mean a 2875lb FT-86...

Keep in mind that cage they have in there is heavy duty and has to be close to 100lbs, The car probably wont have a spare tire as alot of new cars dont. The car also had the air jack system, Im going to stick with 2680 lbs.

Good call. Totally forgot about the cage and air jack system. I would pay serious coin if they offered the air jack system as an option lol

AC systems these days are quite light: a lot of OEM systems are under 40 pounds. The stock RX-8 system is 18 pounds.

What were the qualifying times and fastest lap times for the the CTR, S2K and FT86? I think these might give a better indication of the car on its own. Not perfect but better than the whole race.

An overall win/loss there has a lot more to do with drivers, traffic and strategies than just the car.

If Toyota is trying to get real life durability testing by competing in this race, why would they remove more from the car (weight wise) than they had to? Their purpose wasn't to win, it to was acquire data. Which means they would leave as much stock as they could.
