Any thoughts on using the BRZ ones on a FR-S with Koni's?

I'm using the BRZ part number on my FR-S. I've spent too much money on the car recently to upgrade the dampers.

The damping is OK with the stock units but I think the front may be a bit more under-damped. I don't have enough time with good weather to have a definitive opinion.

So you're saying the 3.8 fronts could stand to be stiffer? Like RCE Yellows maybe? I've got some soft front springs now and i'm looking to get something stiffer per RCE and others recommendation.

What's the rates for the brz compare to frs on these swift springs if they are different?

BRZ is 3.8/4.5 and FR-S is 3.0/4.5 I think.

If that's true then these are a fair amount software than the RCE yellows (400lbs all around?)!

Hrmm... not sure where I got the 400lb/in figure from, 250 isn't even 4kg/mm even so it's not like I just added zeroes. Must be too much vegging over the holidays

It sounds like the BRZ rates are probably a pretty good neutral rate with the FRS rates being more tail happy (although a bit less than stock looking at the front to rear rates).

Has anyone driven an FRS with both these and the yellows to compare the balance?

I think you would be hard pressed to find somebody that had driven these back to back. My car feels pretty neutral at speed with the Swift BRZ springs. Low speed, it is still rotates fine, doesn't push. Between the Racecomps and the "BRZ" Swift's it may be more personal preference. The drop is slightly lower on the Swifts.

I have slightly wider track (10mm spacers) than the front. That softens the rear rate a bit.

I got tired of waiting for what the BRZ STI springs rates might be and if they would be available.

If I lived somewhere with nice smooth roads I probably would have already gone with the Racecomps. As it was, the Swifts offered a slightly less aggressive spring rate for the front while still not biased too far to the rear.

If my car had come with the worldwide Toyota GT86 rates, I might not have changed the springs. But yeah, it looks better lowered and I will admit to that bit of form, rather than function, with my choice.

I just installed the production version of the BRZ Swift springs on my FR-S. (3.8F 4.5R) I previously had a pre-production set of of the FR-S rates (3F 4.5R) They are still very neutral, but not quite as tail happy as the FR-S rates were. I expect increased stability on track, but the FR-S rates would likely be better for slower more technical use, such as AutoX or other parking lot antics, if that is your bag.
