why wouldn't they have it? They re-released the AE-86 in japan, new everything... as limited run of course. From my understanding the tooling exists for all toyota vehicles, either in a big storage facility or to Toyota owned supplier/tier 2 manufacturer. |

Back on topic, the Subaru drive train can certainly handle the power required for a new supra (300+) and a turbo H6 with some hybrid tech would be really sweet. The FRS is based on a shortened Legacy platform so a Supra could easily be based on a longer version of the same platform. |

1 - No, Subaru's drivetrain can't handle +300 RWD. Specially rear diff. 2 - No, FRS isn't based on shortened Legacy platform. It used to be, but throw that idea out & they made whole new design. |

Legacy platform thing was gone, when MkII was announced (somewhere around that time). |

I think if there were to be a MK5 Supra that it would be built in the new GS' chassis.

It shouldn't be a Lexus. The GT-R is proof that there's absolutely no need to market a car that should be focused on performance (not luxury) to be placed under a "premium name badge", especially one that's the rejuvenate the "Toyota" name. GT-R owners are fine with it being called a Nissan, despite it's price tag being above what most Infiniti buyers spend. Though partially in the back of my head I wouldn't put one past Toyota to put a Lexus badge on it, after what they've done to the FT-86 putting those horrible Scion badges on it.
Lexus Supra. Nope, doesn't sound right at all. We all know it's coming by now. Which segment will it be placed in is the more interesting discussion point though. I think they'd be better off targeting the 370z/Mustang range personally, they have a "high-end" performance car as is with the LFA, and marketing a GT-R competitor doesn't help them much in sales. 40-50k V6 Seq-Turbo sounds about right. Though, I would never expect another legendary 2JZ-GTE type halo motor again. I'd expect it to be limited at what you can throw at it unless highly modified. |

Hasn't the Supra, SC/Soarer and GS/Aristo always shared the same chassis design?
