Same here. May 1~3 was last day of the classes... but just checking to see if that's the case for other states

Depends on University/College/etc Summer break starts early/late. Also reply w which state you're in might help.
Not going to college, but I looked up the calendar for the local ones. Vassar College ends May 7th, Dutchess Community College May 8th, and Marist College May 10th.

As for the spoiler, use polystyrene insulation board. In Canada we can get it at any Lowes or Home Depot, but they might stock different stuff in Cali. You want the fine, closed-cell stuff. You can make a hot-wire 'saw' that will cut the stuff like butter with a wood frame, car battery, electrical wire and a resistance wire (guitar) for the cutting element. Smoke is toxic, though. It sands super easily, too and any cheap serrated kitchen knife is a suitable saw. Once you have your shape you can seal it by painting it with carpenters glue, sand it smooth. Then paint it with auto spray paint. But make sure it is totally sealed, since the paint will dissolve the foam. It will be very fragile, but skipping any fiber reinforcement is easy, and it will be retardedly light. Mounting may be an issue, though.

This is a quick summary from making rocket-cars to drag race in my high-school Power Mechanics class.
lol, are you joking me, carbon fiber? Do I sound like I have tons of money to blow? No, cloth as in the cloth in a rag top. Except this doesn't need to be water tight since it sits on the outside, so I don't need a thick vinyl layer or rubber layer, I am thinking some vinyl base paint will reinforce the fabric, prevent rot, and fill in the space between the fibers to reduce the amount of water that soaks in. I should just make a trip to the tailor and see what they say about this lol.

I'd like to put some gunmetal gray metallic spray on it for the badass factor, but the extra 5 bucks for another can of paint...eh, we'll see what mood I am in when I go to Walmart lol.

Hmmm thanks for the instructions on the foam board though. I'll go check. Ideally it would be wrapped in glass fiber/ carbon fiber and then painted over with resin but I don't have money to spend on glass fiber cloth. On ecomodder some people use Bondo (I think that's a body filler?) over foam insulation, and it doesn't seem to have too many issues with melting the foam.

Mounting...again, I need to be sure of the existence of an awesome double sided tape or else none of these plans work.

That was my mistake, I went off on a tangent about interesting facts. You've said that you delivered pizzas multiple times.

Woven E-Glass cloth is less than $10/yard (carbon is ~$60/yd here) depending on weight (based on fiber thickness) and usually over 4' wide. Find some boat supply place and they should be able to set you up. Might even have workshops on repairs or even canoe/kayak making.

No no I think you're not getting what I'm saying, the idea is to have a soft cloth buttress that can fold!

Is your roof leaking? What is your goal by putting clothes to your top?

If the idea is to cover your top with another layer of clothes to give a renewed look, find the fabric that you want, stitch a layer of plastic insulator from home depot and figure out a way to cover on top of your existing top to make it look nice...

Maybe I'm just ignoring the concept?

Ok, I'll play. The big issue I see is how to keep their shape. The closest real-life concept I think of is dawn-of-flight planes. But they still had internal ribs and structure. Plus mounting it seems even more of a hassle.

But maybe I should ask for a bit more clarification on the purpose first. I'm envisioning a sort of vertical 'wing' with an 'inside' section that is designed to curve the air or wake on the sides of the car into the lower pressure area behind the rear window. The purpose would be to reduce turbulence in that area by helping to 'fill' the low pressure zone. This would extend how long air is attached coming over the top, reducing drag. The 'outside' of it would also serve to keep flow on the sides attached longer and also reduce drag.

Is this the concept (roughly)?

Thanks for the Rota mention, jackass... heh...

Were those ones copies of your genuines?

I really don't think my tolerance of other owners is going to last until I have set myself up to buy this car. And it's going to get even worse when the used market gets bigger.

There is this bizarre duality with this car. The good minority who will rationally mod and drive the hell out of it. And the stanced rest. Slammed on shit suspension, riding on shit knock-off wheels with tires that don't fit. Not happy.

When it comes to absolutely purest Toyota handling, I may follow Serial over to an MR-S.

Maybe also why I'm having irrational E39 thoughts, too.

Hehe. Indeed, copies of my genuine Weds. What I see with this car is strange. It's like the scene INSTANTLY developed. It took the Subaru crowd...at least 5-8 years to get to the point where they are today yet we're at that point with this car now. The maturity of the scene....is not where I want it to be. Unfortunately, that happens in every price bracket. Just gotta find a good group of people I guess.
