UPDATE: We'll be shipping the kit to @Sportsguy83 ASAP (I'm not sure if USPS is open tomorrow during the time I'm not at work to ship it out), but thanks to our latest tester @Nitesh31 , we're 99.9% sure we have solved the problem. We re-created the problem on his car to make sure it was really solving a problem when it worked, and then eliminated the problem after multiple tests. The true test will be when sportsguy gets his wired up again!

What did you do to eliminate the problem?

Simply changed the configuration of the wires, install will be exactly the same. The performance of the lights weren't affected, but apparently it was creating a resistance that the car didn't like. I notice you said it came up once, but you haven't had it come up again... Obviously if it's not coming up, it's working as it should, but if you start running into the same problems, we'll be more than willing to swap it out for a corrected kit.

I have been doing some looking around and this seems to be related to an issue that I am having. A week ago, I posted about my car being dead and refusing to start. It would crank and crank but it would act like there was no fuel. No CEL or anything in indicate a problem. By the time the car was towed to the dealership, it started fine.

Now, every so often, I will notice the car is acting like it has 1/2 the power it did and this is consistent with limp mode. Still no CELs.

Now where I think this may be related to your issue @Sportsguy83, is because the last mod I did to the car was install LED Reverse Lights. Car was perfect before that.

Thoughts?

Did you install a kit, or parted out things by yourself?

My issue had to do with the resistance the LED light was introducing into the system.

Also, I still have issues with my BRZ proximity key because the car a lot of times thinks the key is in the trunk area. This was because the grommet I was supposed to use for the BRZ has a antenna cable for the key and when I modified the grommet, I somewhow damaged the cables ( I checked them down completely and they did not tear or anything so I really don't know exactly what I damaged but I did....

Simply changed out the bulbs with LEDs.

My car was still in "limp mode" all morning today with no CEL. I tried a few different things, lights on, lights off, but still in "limp mode". Finally I disconnected the battery about an hour ago to reset the ECU and see if that does anything.

Also, I ordered the BT ODBII scanner and will be installing Torque on my Xoom so maybe I can get some more idea of what is going on. I'm tired of taking it to the dealer and having them shrug at me.

When I figure this out.. (and I will!) I will start a new thread with all the details.

Thanks for chiming back!

Scott

Change the LED bulbs back to stock, most probably the problem will go away.

IF so, then get a different type of LED. So, you did not install a rear fourth brake light kit? What lights did you replace with LEDS?

I might try putting the stock bulbs back in. I know all too well how "sensitive" modern cars' electrical systems can be now that everything is tied into the ECUs.

I didn't do the 4th brake light and don't have any plans to. I have just been replacing all of the lights to LED/HID.

I did notice one of my switchbacks from PrecisionLED acting funny the other day. It saw in the reflection in the car in front of me that my right-front was not on. I hit my right turn-signal and it flashed amber. When I turned off the signal, it turned back to white and stayed on like its supposed to. Strange stuff.

BTW, after resetting the ECU the car "felt" a little better but it is still noticeably down on power. I may just have to wait until I get my ODBII reader and get some data before I find out what is "really" going on.

Alright, I'm getting notifications for this, so I feel obligated to chime in and give a professional opinion even though it's not related to one of my products. Naikaidriver, are you 100% sure there were no issues before you installed the reverse LED's? Which ones did you use? Also, it takes less than 5 minutes to just put the stock reverse bulbs back in, just to help isolate the issue! Try it out, then come back and answer the questions. I offer High Powered LED Reverse lights that I've used on several FR-S' and BRZ's without issue, so I'm interested to see if the ones you have are a similar design or not.

Change those LEDs out back to stock, and report back. The OBDII adapter is not going to give you much. I tried it with the car in limp mode, and no codes are given. I BET you it is the LEDs! (I had a mini bad experience with Precision LEDs before they became a vendor in the forum). After that, get a different brand. KI-ZN6 for example.
