Please log the MAF signal at low revs when you remove the resonators.

Jeff,

I've used Perrin products on past cars and have been very pleased with them. I look forward to your test results on this and new products in the near future!

Maybe it different from cars to cars, but most of the tuners dislike ARC intake due to its inconsistency of air flow. They look cool, but I really don't see how ARC intake is any better than traditional aftermarket intake.

And as far as cold air intake, i don't see any benefit at all in NA/none torquey cars. it will just create more laggy response and lack of air flowing behind the bumper.

Looking forward to seeing these results...

Are you going to do flow bench testing?
I remember several years back in the BMW community some guys did a flow bench test on a high-dollar aftermarket intake manifold from a highly regarded aftermarket tuner and found it to be only marginally better than the factory part at the time, and significantly worse than an older part that was a direct swap for the application. Hence why everybody with an S/M52 engine swaps in an M50 manifold for $200 or less and not a Schrick for $1000+.

CFM is only a small part of the performance of an intake manidold.

Really, the only purpose I can see for that airbox is to display the ARC logo.
Sorry to dig this back up but the comments are silly at best..

The ARC induction box gets air from the OEM duct. It works fine and does not suck up hot air..

I've tested and measured temps and will continue to do so throughout the year on circuit and street. It also does not lose HP...

Most CAI's pull from the OEM duct (Injen and AIRAID are not CAI's)... unless you're referring to the "snorkel" as the duct. In which case, I'd say the snorkel is pretty restrictive in and of itself (dyno proven).

Either way, the ARC looks to be an SRI, not a CAI. Definitely a high quality piece, but I don't see it making very much power... and with horrible heat soak properties (I have done extensive heat soak temp readings on multiple intakes at the MAF). Or am I missing a piece that seals it to the stock snorkel, or snorkel location?
