You know I hear a lot of guys on this site say a lot of much more powerful cars feels slow yet they don't shit on the acceleration of the BRZ/FRS. I'm pretty sure if I drove a SS Camaro vs a BRZ there is no way I can come away saying the SS feels slow. One thing is for certain, men lie but numbers (power to weight ratio) don't lie.

426hp/3850lbs = 9.04 lbs/1hp
200hp/2760= 13.8lbs/1hp

And on top of that the SS has 2.8 times more torque even though it isn't 2 times heavier.

More weight on the drive tires = better traction.

Amen.

The SS isn't a slow car. It might be heavy, but it's still a damn quick car in its price range. There's a lot of "why not just turbo the BRZ" talk, but at the same time, a turbo in the Camaro will produce even more power. So if that's what the OP wants, he's starting off with a better platform.

Lastly, is anyone surprised he hasn't come back? If you posted that you got a new car and the rest of the thread was people shitting all over your choice of vehicle, would you bother coming back?

I think we're all confused buy his original post. He says how is sad, and how he will "forever miss" his BRZ but then bought a new Camaro. More then a little strange.

I miss all of my cars from the past every once in a while. Doesn't mean that I wasn't ready to move on to something else at some point.

well i can understand lack of power bit, but i would never trade an 86 for a camaro...

trading in for an STI is different youre going from an underpowered corner beast. to a power house awd wrc street car. seems reasonable lol.

id love to have both honestly. some time i will buy an 04 STI

After driving one I guess I'd reply that it feels slower than you would expect it to feel. The suspension felt really soft and so there wasn't ever any sense of urgency or poise. When you mashed it, it went, and went well, but it was never impressive in any way. With my BRZ I have a smile on my face almost daily, but with a week in the SS it just became a way to get from the hotel to the track and then to dinner.

idk why people like the new camaro, it looks nice and beast, but honestly for the price and what size the engine is and what the standard for V8s are today it isnt really impressive to me.

if i were to get rid of my FRS for something with balls it would deff be the mustang 302. it handles almost as well as the e92 M3 brakes almost as good and accelerates in a 1/4 mile almost identical.

not to mention the mustang is better looking and ford is better than chevy :-P also the MPG is way better.

ive driven the new 302 it rips like a sob! and it does handle quite well. i sat in the camaro and just said this is sort of lame and tight and there are way too many blind spots for a large car like this. i will admit the BRZ and FRS one naughty blind spot to the sides but all in all the driving position and field of view out of the front is perfection. you can see all the apex's while cornering and see the entire road.

but like everyone said to each their own. good luck with a GM though dude remember to fill the oil and check the gas at the gas station
