A projector housing + ballasts will cost you at least $150 (that's just the cheapest I've seen for a used set, typically I think you're looking at around $300), and then you need to retrofit that into your existing reflector housing. Complete projector headlight kits seem to go for around $600 minimum for a used set.

The big thing for me is the shape of the headlights. Projectors require a much smaller housing so they can keep the slender profile of the headlights from the concept. If they decide to offer it with reflector headlights, they will need to buldge out the headlights and it will look awful (look at the 2012 impreza compared to the impreza design concept). I would prefer they raise the base price and make projectors standard vs. bulging out the headlight design to fit reflectors.
It's not an ebay kit and it's not just colored bulbs its an actual Hid kit. It didn't need to come with complete housing since the 7th gen celica already has projecter head lights. And from the looks of it the 86 will have projectors too.

The kit it got comes with balasts, wiring harness, blubs etc. It's from ddm tuning and was like $50ish shipped for the 55w kit with harness at the time I got them. This is it Click. I did alot of research before buying such a low priced kit. It's one of those thing where for the celica they seem to work fine, but on other cars (the civics for example) they just seem to not work. Idk why and if anyone else decides to get them ask around on your forums first. But as I said them seem to work great on celicas and mine has been on for about a year with no problems what so ever.

And btw. I got the 55w 600k which is basically an icy white since 55w washes the color out and these lights looks B.E.A.utiful at night. The road in front looks like day light.

All I require is a simple A/C unit. Everything else is extra.

Edit, nvm. I get it now. For cars that come with reflectors it is expensive to retrofit projectors.

Yeah tell me bout it. I've email LightWerkz to get a quote for my headlights, but it sure was cheap (can't fully remember the price tag).

All I need is a steering wheel and gas pedal. Oh and a handbrake in case you know... One of them things show up... You know... A turn or something? Yeah I hope my options list isn't going to be too much to ask for...

On a serious note, I don't even want speakers and stereo... I want a street legal go cart that is drivable in the rain without scuba gear...

Looks good
Lots of spirit

Im right there with you bro 100%

I want mine basic for two reasons
A: I am not a luxury man in any way, (RR is ugly to me)
B: Its not going to look the same by the end of that year so why pay for stuff im going to rip out anyway.

You won't need a handbrake to go around a corner in this car

...Though you can use one if that's what you prefer :P

They work like champs in civics btw. Probably the most popular set of pnp hids on 8th.

Then I don't remember which car it was then, cuz I know there was a car or two that this kit just seemed to not work on.

Cheap Chinese-made ballasts are not even close to Denso ballasts in quality. Flickering, spotty reliability, failure under inclement weather conditions, etc. Good quality ballasts cost $200 minimum, factor in a nice pair of HID projectors (again not cheap made-in-China crap) and that's $750 minimum.
