I paid a little over AED101k for mine, which included rustproofing, registration and tinting here in Dubai, a price I found very reasonable.

What else is there is in this price range? A Clio 200? Bit fragile. Genesis Coupe? More expensive, less interesting to look at in 2012. Mustang V6? People will always ask you why you didn't buy the V8 (which is less precise in terms of feel than the 86 and also costs AED150k).

Better entertainment systems are easily available via the aftermarket, and I would respectfully suggest if the touchscreen matters to you more than the pure feel of driving it, then the 86 is not the car for you.

i heard after market parts will void your 5 year warranty with toyota.

also i test drove the 86, i loved it, yes i agree with you that 100k(+/- 10k) is a reasonable price, but as i said i was just wondering.

do you have any information on the BRZ in dubai ? our subaru dealership is pure crap here sadly so i havent heard anything.

dealerships now can give cars for days ?

all i got was 10 minutes driving around the dealership with the salesman nagging every time i go over 80KM/H, he also kept talking about useless options like cruise control and power mirrors and the stereo system

how can i get the 86 for at least a day to test it out ?

I paid around 90k for both a 86 in HK and BRZ in China

works out to be 45k each... and u are bitching here cuz u paid 34k and your gas is as cheap as water?

I ain't even complaining and I gotta wait till the end of the year before I could get my hands on either one!

I think they gave him the long term test cause he is the founder of 86cult.com, don't see it possible for anyone else

Here in the Philippines it starts at around $38,000 for the base m/t. Insurance and registration not yet included in the price. $45,000 for the top of the line Aero version. This models comes with Trd front & side skirts. Also trd big wing spoiler & red steering wheel & seats.

I was born in Dubai and lived there for 16 years! Back in the day there were more imports on the road than dealerships could count. New cars were rare. And I remember dealers offering 0.9% on almost any new car just to get people to buy them. Then some laws came in about anything over 20 or 25 years old on the road will be illegal unless it passes a smog test, which many failed horribly.

The prices are mostly due to inflammation over the past few years, prices of everything went up... I'm in a way glad that I moved to the US before I got stuck there.
