fully loaded 86 is 34k $ here :(

in dubai the fully loaded toyota 86 with AT is for 34,000$ :/ what do you think is the reason for this ?

oh and this price is not including registration fees and other "hidden" fees that you have to pay to license the car and put number plates on it...

the price for the basic spec manual is 95,000 AED, it is a stripped version, no radio no nothing, just a steering wheel and AC on 16inch wheels.

95k aed is almost 26k.

toyota.ae, you can check out all the options there. it is BULLCRAP.

Because the people of dubai tend to over spend on everything, so the dealers know they can get away with charging that amount. There may also be tariffs.

One other thing to consider is that toyota is selling this car for about 2.8 million yen in Japan. That works out to over $34,000 american.

You should consider yourself lucky firstly the car will be available in Dubai,
Some Asian countries you will be paying in excess of $80,000 for the car (Singapore, Malaysia ) and they have very limited numbers.

$34k for top spec is very reasonable for this car and as far as I am aware the basic version for 95,000 AED ~ $24k USD is not the fully stripped version< its the basic version with basic head unit and 16inch wheel

At lest in UAE you have the option to get the basic MT trim. In Oman, you can only buy the Mid AT trim. The dealer says there is no market for MT and they dont intend to bring them.

A funny thing happened to me when i went to the showroom when the car was lunched. I went straight to the salesman and told him im interested in the toyota 86 with MT. The salesman showed me an AT. I told him i dont want an auto i need a manual. He told me u can switch between the AT and MT in this car. He insisted that it had a manual gearbox. I ended up telling him I needed a toyota 86 with a clutch then he understood.

Fully loaded.. Try this... The FR-S starts at 30k here :(

Considering how cheap the gas is where you are, I feel no sympathy.

$45k USD in Australia for GTS model in AT.

$48k with factory body kit.

I think $50k or more with dealer options (reverse cam, tint, paint protection etc).

Hanzo 07-02-2012 09:07 AM

Don't feel bad, my brother lives in Singapore, he said to purchase a new BRZ with rights to purchase cost $180K US.

atledreier 07-02-2012 09:07 AM

76k in Norway.

beirouty 07-02-2012 09:31 AM

wow, i never realized its so expensive in asian countries.

i am just pissed off because in the UK they get the car with a better center console also, here we get normal radio from other toyota cars ( no touch screen )

also id like to point out i am not whining i am just wonder if this is normal or not but i guess it seems normal now that i know the prices in other parts of the world.

oh also we dont have the spoiler in any of the trims .... it will come as part of the TRD kit which will be for 15,000 AED ( about $4,000 )

Singapore is a bit of an extreme example with their tax/limited 10 year titles. Despite that it's still one of my favorite cities.
