Wow, I missed a lot in 24 hours. JesseE and Celica, thank you guys for the detective work. Amazing stuff.

I haven't contacted him yet. I'm going to drive to the precinct now and file a report while the midday traffic is at a low. They'll have to file the report now and I'll contact his insurance company. I'll update when I get back.

I would have considered working something out directly but I've made the mistake of taking people at their word in the past and obviously, in this case, honestly is not to be expected.
