Opposite question of above: How high can they go?

They ride smooth and are built very solid. They are a perfect all around coilovers since you can slam it or do autox or drift without having to adjust much of anything. Many of my frirnds have them and I have never heard anything bad except that the dampening adjustment can be that to reach

Not hating them,
They look flimsy to me, but glad you like them. SO long as you know what your buying, I dont know that youre gonna see any difference between tein, bc, buddy club, fortune, megan, stance, hsd. At that level, I often opt for a quality set of coils and a good set of inserts, like koni, but you dont get the drop you get with these. RCE will only net you 20mm, and that works fine with a stock damper, any lower and you need to look at new shocks/struts. Some folks like too much drop./too much camber it seems. These entry level coil overs get you a 'matched'(ehm) pair for cheap, so for DD use, I suppose they are fine. I have seen failures of chinese pot metal parts and cant say I trust them for the way I use my car. I dont know that I would run a BBK sticky rubber and get sideways on racetracks much with confidence. The american made GC kit is MSRP $1400, with dampers from Koni, of Holland. I'm sure you can haggle it down for less. Are the stance branded worth a $400 savings to you? Not meaning to upset anybody, the OP did a great review and all. but the fact is for the same money I would just buy different parts, thats all my point is. My only concern with stance is they are imported out of Illinois(Korea), they had offices out of Japan, moved to Korea for awhile if I remember correctly, then China, and now I think they are out of Korea again. HSD makes the coils in Korea now.AFAIK, I do dare to say 90% of the stuff made in china doesnt impress me. Sounds like you have tried KW, GC, Bilstein, and if this is what you like, cool. I'd have sooner seen you on the bottom level GC's or the RCE's. Curious to see how these hold up over time. I try and stick with that 10% stuff. Last edited by gmookher; 12-19-2012 at 02:32 PM. |

I believe the highest they go is around stock height.
He shared his opinion on a forum, there's no laws on backing up all your statements on forums... I would agree with him though. Quote:
Too much drop and too much camber? Who is to say what is too much? Am I breaking the law or something? I've run ground control products before, and I will repeat what was said in my first post, I prefer these. You're concerned about the fact that they're imported out of illinois? I find that to be a good thing. I'm already fully aware of how they'll hold up over time from my previous experiences with them. My IS300 Stance GR+ coilovers lasted 5 years (60,000 miles) before they needed a rebuild... In between I had a front lower bushing go bad, and it was warrantied and replaced with a revised one.

Thats awesome that your so confident of the product, very reassuring to buyers. I did a quick search and found a thread with three posters with the exact same issue. Hence my concern.
http://www.rx8club.com/wheels-tires-...inions-232656/ http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/i...owtopic=417381 If it suits your needs usage and drving style, awesome. Ground control base kit is just sleeves and eibach springs, nothing really special. What makes the common "Ground Control" setup good is because it's paired with matched coils, matched Koni dampers which are going to be better than any of the asian made stuff. Just sayin, Stance is alright for what it is. Not trying to start a debate. Last edited by gmookher; 12-19-2012 at 02:31 PM. |

I had GC/Koni's on my e30 drift car, and when the rears got worn out I switched to a stance rear coilover, and in no way regret it... The car is less bouncy than it was even when the GC's were in great shape, and just feels generally more stable and planted. But yeah, you just go on blindly hating any asian made suspension.

why does everyone just loooove to hate on everything on this forum?? this guy spent time to put out a helpful review for anyone looking into another coilover option. if you don't like it, gtfo. it's that simple. he's just trying to help out others here on the forum, which is the exact opposite as some of you. i appreciate the time you took to write this review as i am weighing coilover options as well

Really? You went and bought a whole new coilover? The whole idea of Koni Yellow and GC is that Koni is rebuildable. Last i checked it was like $120 per shock incl express return shipping, and bam, like new, with new damper internals, all you retain is the shaft and housing, unles yours are dented or bent which I think they replace at that flat rate as well if its NOT under warranty, like from crashing. They offer the same warranty on their bottom level as well as their top level offerings. Koni has a lifetime warranty, so the cost of rebuild is a non issue. When mine wear out, its both fast easy to get fresh valving done on them, same day, just go to somewhere like performanceshock.com. Rapid turn around, but then again with 80k miles on them and many many track days and some questionable driving by my wife who is still learning how to drive at the track, they are good as new, dont need a thing. I will have to give stance a try sometime |

80k miles on a spring and shock combo doesn't sound unreasonable, but most coilover companies reccommend their coilovers be rebuilt every 20-30k miles, so I think my Stance coilovers did just fine.

Thanks for the post OP. So is it safe to say that Stance are made in Japan or JDM? This is importance for me to clear up.
