Def a "Keeper"
best chassis from any manufacturer "out d box" in AGES...

Wow man, you are right about that tacomas are over priced. I can find a f250 cheaper than a similar milage and year taco. The rams are over priced as well.

My wife is awesome, the way i made her understand was like this: I used to have expensive DD and toys that became track machines. Once i started tracking them, it started getting expensive. For example i used to have an R-35 GT-R after a couple of track days my rotors cracked and my pads were pretty much useless. The combination of pads, rotors, and tires was around the 3.8k range. Then you ad the cost of maintenance and it does not make sense. Its starts to get very expensive to track big heavy expensive cars, or very powerful cars that always brake down etc.

The way i see it, i can have as much fun for much less in the FR-S, tires are much cheaper so are pads and routine maintenance and the car wears them out slower since its so light. My best lap time in my ex 590whp GT-R was a 1:26.1 around harris hill, in the fr-s i am down to 1:29.8 and the car has made me a much better driver it has made me appreciate and concentrate on taking a corner and not making up for it with power. I love this little car!!

Robi

I agree with you on this. Such a great little platform to either start learning or modify it and go balls out as a track car. This little car will become a legend you will see, im keeping her for a long time.

Robi you need to visit TX

Ah... I have many a lap around TWS. You haven't done Turn 1 fast enough until you scare the shit out of yourself. It is a fun track, one of the fastest in the country.

If I abuse of my 65 Mustang, I can do 1:59s. It weighs 2750lbs, has about the same size brakes as a stock FRS, 15x7," front 15x8" rear wheels running Goodyear bias ply race tires. About 425hp@7800rpm very old school horsepower at the crank. Does about 145mph down the front straight.

I been to Harris Hill a couple times on my bikes, but I suck on motorcycles.

Nice build. I'm just starting on my FRS, but it is my daily driver so I can't get too crazy.

Well guys my new track wheels have arrived 17x9 Weds Sport TC105N

I also took my E92 M3 to the track to get a base time which was a 1:31.8 compared to my best time in the FR-S 1:29.8 so this means the FR-S for now is 2 seconds quicker around a small track. Not bad for a car that has less than half the HP.

Some weird things i came across in the tracks garage, lets see who can guess what kind of car is the one on the ground in the lift:

Nope :p its a 1967 TVR Tuscan V8

Anyways guys I had a chance to head out to the track and try to beat my personal best 1:29.8 and i did, i beat it by a full second posting a 1:28.8 . This means im 3 secconds faster than my M3

Here is the video and pics as usual, i added a bit more downforce on the wing and 2 more psi in the rears which i think helped out a lot. Weather was beautiful as well, cloudy skies and 68F.

Here is a section of the tracks lap board, we had to write over it like 3 times since i kept improving :
