Thread cleaned up. I'm getting fed up with the flaming and negativity many of you have been exhibiting.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING POSITIVE OR CONSTRUCTIVE TO ADD TO A TOPIC, MOVE ON!

IF ALL YOU WANT TO DO IS FLAME SOMEONE ON A LEGITIMATE TOPIC, PREPARE TO BE INFRACTED.

And yes, I'm yelling.

This is a disclaimer before I get flamed for not knowing how to drive. I have never had any issues or accidents backing up, ever. I suck at it, but I'm careful.

I feel like having a backup camera wouldn't do me any good. Not looking throws off my perception and orientation. I have very bad hand-eye coordination. I don't like backing up using my mirrors, something that pisses my dad off because he doesn't think it's proper not to use the mirrors. I feel like looking at a backup camera would make it even worse. The FR-S is hard to see out of, but it is possible to turn and look completely behind you.

Second disclaimer. I know how to use mirrors. I'm not walking around my car trying to figure out what these weird things on the side of my car are. I just don't like trying to focus when I can just turn and look.

I own and drive a Nissan Titan as well as my FRS and I can say without a doubt that it's easier to reverse park my crew cab Titan than it is to back my FRS up...and I've been driving sports cars since 1996.

To the OP, a back up cam is a wise investment, don't listen to the self proclaimed pro's especially ones that don't own this car. I plan on installing one on mine when I find a camera that I like and can be mounted in the triangle. Until then I angle my sideview mirrors down so i can see curbs because I don't trust my "spatial awareness" to keep me from rashing my wheels.
how the hell is backing up in a titan easier than an fr-s?? it like comparing a semi to a golf cart! For someone who's been driving sports cars since '96 you didn't pick up much knowledge

I'll have to agree with supermassive, I find trucks easier to back into spots than sedans and coupes. I think it's how they turn and fit into a spot.

As for the OP, BeSpoke?

When my wife and I retired we took off for several years in a motor home and just traveled the country. I had a back up camera that was worth its weight in gold. It's just another helpful tool that's available.

hahaha I park in NYC streets, there's never 15" of parking here, I was just exaggerating that when I feel like I'm about to hit bumpers there's always still a lot of room left... but when I drive my corolla I can get to about 1" and not have a care in the world.

Not hard at all!
I did the same thing, except I am not handy with tools so the local Subaru guy helped me big time and it turned out awesome.

Love the on-screen line guidance for parking perfectly and also not running over my kids bikes laying in the driveway as I back out of the garage.
