exactly

im 27, no kids, no wife, no real responsiblities, and this car is perfect. its fun to drive, looks cool, and turns heads.

to be honest kids fit fine back there. one of my lady friends has a 3 year old son. his booster seat fits perfectly.

i couldnt see myself driving another car unless i could afford a zenvo st1.

Yes sadly now from this car we can only move up which gets expensive. I used a corolla and camry as a rental and was in pain just driving it. No engine sounds, body roll for days, and sit so high I felt like a basketball player. I wonder how people drive those things. Maybe we are spoiled

"normal" people dont care about cars. to them its just and item that gets them from point A to point B.

I agree the review is a little off, but to each their own. The head unit though...that thing is awful. I even took the Subaru survey and bashed the head unit in it. If it's supposedly better than the FR-S's, then God bless the FR-S owners who have that head unit. I cannot stand navigating through the head unit.

Guys don't let the review get to you. Some of the complaints mentioned are the same complaints that I read about in this forum. Nothing new really. I thought that they were honest. Just don't let it bother you. To each his own. :happy0180:

That is my only complaint.. Sucks having to deal with touchscreen to select options. I love my car, brought back to joy of driving again. Far as the backseat, who cars.. If my friends insist on taking the car I'll just make them flip a coin. And for storage..Right now I have a full set of side steps for a 4-door Wrangler in it now, so it isn't that bad at all.

If you accept this as an article just pointing out all the flaws of the car, then it's understandable. However, they really should note that this car was meant to be the car with top notch steering/control and overal sport-feel while maintaining a very low price. In order to achieve this, they skimped out on a lot of quality inside the car, but that's really no secret....

I do have to say that the comment about the cupholders is pretty valid though. You should be able to come up with a much better piece without paying very much at all.

Ditto,

As for all the Navigation rage, I agree, thats why I use my phone to do all the navigating and play music, works great over bluetooth. The biggest project I have planned for this car is throwing in a little sound deadening in the doors, more if it's still louder than I like on the Interstate/highway. Ever notice how much quieter it is when you're on brand new asphalt? I want that all the time.

"The touchscreen interface's tiny buttons have yet to find a fan and Tingwall has gone so far as to suggest an aftermarket Sony head unit for the car.")

I too am disappointed that the car does not have better ergonomics in the electronics area. My daily driver is a Mazda CX-7 (by far, NOT a luxury car). The electronic controls/adjustments are easier even without the steering wheel controls. The Subaru touch screen has much to be desired.

I agree that this is more of a driver's car than a daily driver but electronics should not be an issue. There is just too much more better stuff out there that they could have used.

Subaru, as I have read in this forum, is lacking in this electronics in their other cars as well. I would like to replace the complete head unit but the cost will probably make it prohibitive.

i do the exact same thing

the FRS didnt come with navi so i use "navi" aka google maps on my iphone over bluetooth. works perfectly and i love how the music "dims" as the navi speaks. once its done talking, the music goes back to normal level just like an indash.

the road noise is a little annoying but like you said, nothing a little sound deadening material cant fix.

You have to know what the car is going in. If you are unrealistic about it being practical of course you will regreat your purchase decision...

I have 3 kids. I love my BRZ. It's perfect for me. However, I also had a strategy in mind when I bought it. We also have a Honda Pilot that can fit the family and all of the kid shit with ease... And then some. So the BRZ is really my daily work driver and doesn't see kid action 99% of the time (that happens in the Pilot). So I can tolerate the 1% of the time I transport 1-3 kids in my car. And the 99% of the time when I'm just in my car it gets kicks ass gas mileage in my commute. And it's awesomely fund and engaging to drive to boot. I knew what it was going in though. I knew I wasn't going to be doing much family hauling in it, but if I really need to haul kids or it's just me and the wife when we have a babysitter, it works fine in a pinch.
