I'd advise going resonated with the header. You'll most likely get a nasty rasp without it, especially a catless header.

The least I'll go is catless header, catted front, and a resonator when I get my full setup in. Still will be loud as hell, but a refined loud.

That's the way I was looking to go, and I hope it won't be too loud.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind it being loud @ WOT--but not @ cruise/idle. I'm getting old... lol

I ran a pair of Hooker headers and an SLP loudmouth "resonator" on my '02 SS Camaro, but they call it a muffler and it was LOUD. My biggest beef was around 3,000 rpm you could hear this nasty rasp. Put a pair of high flow cats on the headers and it completely removed the rasp, tamed it down a little at idle. Still really loud at WOT.

Catted front pipe, resonated, and a muffler is plenty to keep it loud on the FR-S/BRZ when hitting the pedal, but quiet enough to keep you out of trouble and give it a nice idle. You'll still be able to hear the header noise in the exhaust, but any chance of a rasp will most likely be eliminated.

Catted Header + Catted Front might be a bit overkill, but it would work in keeping a great sound. I'm just trying not to restrict the flow on the header.

My current plan (pending Borla dynos) is:

- Borla header (undecided on UEL/EL yet.)

Paired up with the following parts (already installed)
- Nameless overpipe/downpipe replacement with high-flow cat and helmholtz resonator
- Stock midpipe
- Nameless Axleback

Doing that same setup minus the Hemholtz. Nameless will be releasing a Header soon as well. I may wait a bit to see how their Header performs and get the entire system from the header to the tips. They're great guys to work with.

True, although I've heard it's coming "soon" for months now.

Assuming their dynos are using stock overpipe/front pipe (which the dyno notation seems to imply, even though their video has the "midpipe" replaced along with the catback and headers) then it looks like they saw similar numbers to JDL (6hp / 6ft/lbs) for their header.
