Berk mid pipe and track exhaust installs, dynos, and video
Hi guys.
I thought you might be interested in the results of some exhaust part testing. I did a full write up with 3 videos and install pictures on my blog, but for those that don't like the extra click, here are the cliff notes: Stock the car made 169whp / 141tq with standard correction factors. Mid pipe without cat made about 6hp more. The straight exhaust made zero hp/tq improvements on my car, but shed 20 lbs, and actually made the car loud enough you could hear it. The torque curve improved in the mid range. I'm pretty convinced these cars won't be woken up without a tune. I wonder if the stock ecu has a hp/tq calculator built in and it is controlling fuel and timing maps to keep it near a target. Here is the final dyno pull: Here is the rest of the story, photos, and video. http://fecompetition.wordpress.com/2...-and-mid-pipe/

nice! I found the Berk cat delete and dual exit muffler delete to be way too loud. However, the cat delete paired with their single exit muffler delete is perfectly fine. Loud yes, but I can live with it.
I could say that it felt like I picked up a few ponies from the cat delete. Nice to see the dyno backing that up.

stock intake. I haven't tested any myself, but I have heard most drop ins aren't making any power. Is there evidence to the contrary?

Nope, learn from me who spent $300 on something that doesn't make really that much more power than the stocker. The only thing is that it looks pretty.

Hey it makes like 3-4 whp. Lol more when get higher in power and actually need the air. I bet when I dyno the AVO kit that the intake will make considerable power

I think it's worth posting the dyno sheet here. Posting peak numbers isn't the whole story, there is a healthy torque increase across the board.

Thanks next time please just post the dynos. Other people and I really hate to watch videos to see results. Saves people a lot of time to not have to click on the link if they just want to see the results. Instead of having to scroll down.

Is Berk making a mid pipe now? I knew they had the muffler delete and the catless test pipe, but are they still using the stock middle section or do they have a new part that I haven't seen yet?

there might be confusion on the right term for the. There is a picture int he blog of it. But its the pipe that has the secondary cat in it.

I really like the weight reduction of this piece... but I am afraid it will be extremely loud when I get a header!
