You could still have a shitload of fun just getting to the speed limit

Hopefully the stage 2 details are released soon!!

If it still utilizes the factory fuel system it would be my choice without a doubt. If not it will be stage 1 for me.

Agreed, but my thought is that with minimal parts changed I would stand a much better chance of warranty work if an issue arises.

Also, I don't want to push it too far. I went all out on my last vehicle (6.0L diesel) and it went past the point of being a reliable DD. I was fixing stuff more than I was driving it. lol

In regards to daily driveability, high-rpm driving, cops, and worries about speeding tickets.. I have to say that there's actually less chance of speeding issues with the kit on that you'd normally assume. It's not because it's not fast, it's because you don't have to wring it out above 5000rpm to make power anymore.

If you've driven a big V6 or a V8, you know how they are great at cruising along because of the torque available at low to mid-range rpm's. I've been driving on this turbo for nearly 4000 miles now, and that's what I always enjoy the most about it every time I get in the car. Yesterday I actually forced myself to drive around in a lower gear than normal just to get a feel for it again.

Yeah, I've been putting the miles on the kit

I'll be taking it out to it's third drift day this weekend as well. I'm not trying to blow the engine up on purpose or anything, it's just that we've seen no reason not to just get out and enjoy it. The engine's holding up very well. As in, no issues so far. Gas mileage in town has dropped down to 20mpg lately, but to be honest that's because I was being rather lead-footed. I blame most of that on testing, but a tiny bit of that is because it's so fun.

That's possibly the biggest issue with the car, I have a hard time concentrating on work sometimes. It's such a blast to be driving it around - yes, even just on errands. While it will get a bit squirrelly in the first 3 gears if I get into the throttle a bit far, it's still a blast even when shifting around 4-5k. I guess I can understand why some people only want high-rpm power for the racetrack, but honestly I love how it's fun everywhere.

Ok, ok, it's not much of a show car. I actually drive the snot out of it in all types of crap weather.

seems like as good of an excuse as any to get wheels 8 inches or wider

That's exactly my approach. If you baby it too much and try to keep it a show pony you'll never have any fun. One of the first things I bought was a bottle of touch up paint.

I'm hoping that it upgrades the fuel system so we can start cranking up the boost.
