^^^ Ichi, if we were getting a Toyota twin cam inline-4, I would have no worries!! But we're getting a boxer built by Subaru. Granted, it's a boxer built by Subaru and designed by Toyota+Yamaha, but still . . . .

God, don't go there... at the positive side, it's old 5sp & not STI 6sp, so maybe that was the reason... That gives me more reason to swap em out w STI 6sp tranny...

Back to the topic, it gonna be using AISIN tranny which they have made great FR tranny before, so we gotta wait and see how well that tranny & rear diff handles.

from what I have read on the net, the chief project manager said that the only thing thats "subaru" about it is the boxer configuration. its an entirely new block, rumoured to have have yamaha heads.

on a side note, yamaha also worked on 1jz-gte heads.
