Ummm the supra it self I got for a steal(20,000) which is fairly low compared to most. And so far I've spent around 12,000 in engine/body/suspension dropping another 5g's next week! It's not cheap

So if you had $10,000 to drop on an FR-S, saying it comes stock with 200hp, how fast do you think you could make it with just 10k? would you engine swap or what?

Id take everything out except drivers seat... have Liopsuction to loose weight, and maybe invest in a Supercharger along with upgraded discs and pads

It's waaay too soon to say considering we don't know what sort of aftermarket performance support we'll have, but my goal is for mid 500rwhp. Probably not attainable with a 10 grand initial budget. However, it would probably get most of the "supporting" modifications done. Beef everything up and get it ready to support a large snail shell.
The headwork, complete manley rotating assembly, fuel system, exhaust/intake manifolds, smaller turbo(FP 68HTA maybe) and exhaust, intercooler and intake system...probably looking at using almost all of that 10grand. Engine management and transmission work would be next on my list. Really don't know anything about Subaru transmissions, so I don't know where I would go for that work. After that the suspension and braking. Once it was all ready to roll, swap out that FP68HTA and put in something a bit larger. I'm sure it would all tally up to be in the 20grand ballpark, but mid/low 500rwhp would be damn sexy in a car the same size as my RX. On a smaller scale 10grand budget, I'm sure you could cover all your bases and get it well past mid-300rwhp without sacrificing too much reliability. Really depends on the deals you find and how thorough you are about your supporting mods. |

Or simply swap in a built ej207.

You never know, we may get an engine that's a sleeping monster and we don't even know it, time will tell

Yeah, I mean even the "small" turbo will give you damn nice power. It would just be over kill if you decided not to upgrade to a larger turbo after doing all the supporting mods before hand.

They are a bit over priced ever since F&F.
