Got it. I just see no point of having this car and yet I'm limited to 8,000. I drive a 92 Camry as my daily at 336,000 miles (I see no point of driving this car but am forced to by my family). The way I see it is if I cancel the insurance on this Camry, then I can put it all on the FRS.

Thank you... I thought about USAA when I went over last year to State Farm for my motorcycle insurance.. I was under the impression of you having to be active duty to get USAA.. I was saving so much on my bike insurance that I loved State Farm and even tho my father said I qualified for USAA as he is retired I didn't care.. I just ran a quote and can save over 100$ a month with USAA.. All because you posted that so thank you.. I owe you a beer lol

Sorry to thread jack

USAA is the top-rated auto insurer, but Amica Mutual comes very close in customer satisfaction.

USAA is great, but there might be some cheaper options. My experiences with USAA have been great, great customer service and follow up.

For my bike I never found anyone cheaper then State Farm.. 52 a month for full coverage on my 2011 GSXR 750.. Usaa is just 2 bucks more.. But the car premium is 100$ less with USAA.. I didn't think the 185 was that bad since I was paying 155 for my xterra.. But I can't pall up the 88$ a month.. Especially since I'm recently unemployed till January lol

Self-reported intended annual mileage doesn't have too much of an effect on rates. Exactly because it's hard to verify this. Even if the car is @15k in a year, there is no way to tell if all the miles were done by the person named on the insurance.

You can easily claim that your friends who don't live with you were driving it. I'm not 100% sure, but I think if someone else who has his own insurance drives your car, your car insurance is only providing secondary coverage.

What matters more is whether you mark is 'for pleasure' or 'commute'. If you wreck going to work on a snowy day - the company could deny it, since you're obviously in the wrong.

nothing will happen. i have 4cars, and 1 of them was <4500/yr legit but then i ended up using it.
what some places do is, they may randomly send you a paper - usually 1x yr askign for current odometer.. just to verify the mileage.

i did that one year and wrote in xxx miles, then nxt letter from them said well your <4500mi/yr is now not valid -- please pay new price -- and yes, it went up.

but its not fraud .. and no court or anything..

Don't lie. It's too easy these days for your insurance company to find records of your mileage. For example, they can access state inspection records to see your mileage during your annual inspections. That's just one way...

There's no way that I'm going to stay under 8,000 miles a year for this car.

I'm already at 5,400 miles after three months. .
You will be fine until or unless you file a claim.

I work for Farmers actually, but not in a claims capacity.

As terrible as this sounds, insurance fraud is easier than you think considering it based on trusted word of mouth (mostly). I knew a girl in that business and she said they rarely if at all caught anyone with any kind of insurance fraud.

You need some sort of family member to be affiliated with the military. Otherwise you get denied and referred to Liberty Mutual.
