big company vs private instaleler

I'm looking around my area to find companies that can install a remote starter in the FRS, then I remembered companies like Bestbuy can do it also.

Is it better to have this kind of work done at a large corporate or take it in to a local shop?

Local shop with a good rep....best buy as a last resort. I've heard horror stories about best buy installing stuff. Local shops can be hit or miss so do some research.

Best Buy likely won't install a remote start on a manual transmission car, either. You're better off finding a reputable local shop. Just remember never to leave the car in gear after you intstall the remote starter!

I currently have a ford lightning in my shop that had a remote start installed at Best Try, we are replacing the entire interior because the system caught on fire. That is the worst ive seen from them personally but I have seen too many crappy installs to count done by them.

Good side is best buy accepted blame and is paying to have all of the repairs done.

Look for a reputable shop in your area.
