I have only ever burnt out 1 clutch and that was because the shift linkage broke in my acura legend at an uphill stop light stuck in 3rd gear....

4 month clutch failure...I'm not buying it, I abuse my clutch regularly since i expect to replace it before the turbo goes on and my clutch is still happy, and that's with Ventus RS3's not prius tires....

I specifically remember having a discussion with my dealership about warranty parts and I was told the first burnt clutch was free if within the time frame.

Nothing Hanakuso, either some trolling or just some fail. It's auto-Darwinism. It'll sort itself out. Don't you worry your pretty little clutch.

Interesting.

I always thought just from the mechanical construction of the automatic gear box, ie using the torque converter "slushbox", that it was naturally less efficient at power transfer than a manual transmission with a clutch.

I mean I guess real, tested numbers don't lie, but generally is this not the case?

wait till the torque converter goes then youll wish you had a manual... man up sticks are the only way to drive these cars properly dude. a clutch doesnt cost that much honestly thats the STEALERSHIP for yah. im betting a clutch kit can be bought for about 300$ and install at a shop would be idk maybe another 300.

also wait till you need your first trans service. autos take roughly 9-14 qrtz of synthetic trans fluid. @ 8-15$ a qrt plus the auto trans filter plus labor.

i worked at a shop did an 04 audi S4 auto trans service just changed filter and fluid ...400$ with labor.

Our race car had the clutch explode, does that count?

These are locking converters, it removes the power loss. I still wouldn't want an auto myself though My cars proudly wear a "Save the Manuals" sticker.

They'll have shorter gear ratios for the 6MT too, and probably longer for the turbo guys.. not for the AT :P

Also, the clutch is incredibly EASY to do on this car, probably the easiest car I've seen in a LONG time. I didn't have mine off but was at Don's shop when his was done, it was easy as pie.

This guy, assuming it's not a trollfest, is just getting anally raped.
