Had this TSB, DI Fuel Pump and ECU emmisions recall done yesterday. Less than 2hrs total for all the work. GPS seems to work fine now but still don't know if the XM Traffic works since my trial subscription expired.

What is the ECU emissions recall? A California only thing?

ECU software update to enable DTC/CEL when CTS is out of range, required by California and several other states for emissions purposes. This update should also include the revised VVT cam gear tolerances to correct for the idle dip/P0017/P0019 DTC's.

Had my GPS update done yesterday. It took over 2 weeks for them to get the parts in and when I took it in for service, after sitting in the waiting room for an hour, they discovered the parts delivered from Subaru didn't have the memory card. 1 1/2 weeks later they had the card in and took her back in for the repair. I'm pleased to report that I now have instant lock on the GPS satellites here in Chicago and no issues other than a few greasy fingerprints I need to clean off my dash. This was the first GPS TSB repair they'd done at Napleton Subaru in Schaumburg. I was impressed though with the service I received from their service manager. They set me up with an Outback loaner even though I didn't purchase the car from them (I picked mine up in NY in the first month of release).

I had to take my vehicle in for the service department to "verify" the loss of GPS issue before they could order the parts. Instead of letting them duplicate the problem I just showed the technician a couple of videos with the issues.

The dealer had to order two parts from different sources – a bracket and the SD card. Make sure they order both and have both on hand before returning.

Before the fix I could count on losing the satellites every day. With the fix I haven’t lost the signal yet. The navigation voice is also different, uses different phrases, and easier to understand, IMO.

I brought mine in for GPS and DI Fuel Pump TSB this week. The GPS now locks on plenty of satellites and has not lost signal yet! Woot!

I called the dealer and gave him the TSB number and my VIN. He said they would order the parts and I didn't need to come in to verify. Haven't heard from him in over a month. Out of sight, out of mind. I'm sure they haven't ordered the parts, and it just isn't a big enough annoyance to take time off work to bring the car in.

just to be completely sure, the GPS update does not touch the antenna on the roof of the car right? everything is done inside the car?

Doesn't impact the antenna on the roof. The GPS antenna is in the dash.

Sweet thanks. Just wanted to be sure because I installed the beat sonic antenna on top.

Dealer called and said the parts for the GPS TSB were in, so I dropped off the car today and it turns out it was just the antenna bracket that came in but the SD card hadn't come in yet, so I told them to go ahead and do the antenna bracket today and I can bring it back when the SD card comes in.

The antenna bracket seems to have resolved my GPS signal issues and I think the XM satellite receives much better too, in my very wooded neighborhood where I could not get GPS lock before, I now have no problems getting lock and only lost signal once.

I will still take it in for the SD card update once it arrives in case it helps too, but I can confirm the antenna bracket seems to be the major fix.

I'm taking mine in for the recall and the tsb. They also told me they can't order parts until I bring it in. I asked if I could send him a video of it happening since I'd prefer not to have to drive 45 mins to be told to come back.

Took mine in to get this done, sat there for 1 hour, the guy then came in and said, "We confirmed you fall into the TSB and you need the updates. We're ordering the parts now." It took everything I had not to yell at him and say, "No shit I fall into the TSB. I KNEW THAT! That's why I scheduled this 1 week ago so you could order the parts!"
