OP -- any thoughts why your clutch wore so quickly? Just curious if you were driving aggressively or modified, etc.

Agreed. I believe it's easier to ride the clutch on this car with the higher catch point but that obviously isn't what's going on.

Burnt out?(!)

My advice is put the $1725 towards a trade on an auto BRZ...

I still see people in the wild, riding their clutch at a traffic light on a slight incline. OP must be one of those.
One can try to claim warranty. It might work, or might end with a denial and the car marked as 'abused' forever. Good luck getting any real work covered on it by the warranty after that.

So I advise to take it to an independent shop.

Here's what he said in the other thread:

Theoretically, if the OP is not a clutch-rider, it could've been abused on a few test-drives, when clutch wasn't broken-in yet. It could absolutely result in a worn clutch early.

Question to OP: with how many miles on the ODO did you buy your car with?

That's probably the best idea. Independent shop is going to give you a better price and since it doesn't sound like Subaru is going to cover your clutch anymore there's no real warranty concern replacing it with aftermarket.

OP needs to take his foot off the clutch pedal while driving, though. $2000 services every 5k miles are going to kill the cost of ownership for this.

Whether the OP rides the clutch, abuses it or otherwise bought a used car his question is simply "Should I pay for it or go somewhere else?"

It has already been answered: Go to an independent, qualified shop, or shops, and get pricing and advice from them. Compare all the pricing and advice and make your decision. You, of course, may want to determine WHY you have had to do this. Good Luck!

Sure does seem like it. OP hasn't responded to any of the other two posts about the clutch failure. I would think being without your brand new car for 3 weeks waiting on parts that one would have a little spare time to respond to your own thread.

Also he calls it a "BR-Z"... with a dash...

If it's trolling, it's a poor attempt. He should be here stoking the fire.

His trolling and clutching skills are equal.

No, I just got behind on doing it. I think it was every 70K. I had well over that when it snapped. Bent some valves.

Do yourself a favor and remove the dealership from the equation and talk to your local Factory Service Rep. He is the only one that can deny a Warranty Claim.

Chances are the dealership made this decision without the Rep's input. If he was the one that decided it wouldn't be covered, there should have been a good reason for it. User-error (Poor clutching) isn't a good reason for denying a warranty claim.

EDIT: Did you do the Clutch Pedal Adjustment that others on this forum have done? If so, I hope you didn't mention that to the Service Writer.............
