I removed mine for good now I think. My car was running okay, then suddenly I got a check engine light. I reset the ecu and then a few miles later the check engine light clicked back on again.

The next time I reset it, the car ran like total garbage and was completely losing power at around 4k rpm. I gave up and reinstalled the stock intake with no problems since.

That sucks. No intake on this car for me. A drop in filter would suffice. Typical Subaru and touchy engine management. I'm sure a tune would fix the intake issues.

Man, sorry to hear. Yea no problems for me since I went back to stock. I guess you confirmed for me that i'll leave it at that until maybe I get an exhaust & tune. I especially don't want my car stalling now that rainy weather may be around soon.

I didn't check it; I just reset my ecu unfortunately. I figured that it was something to do with the MAF.

I had the injen and it worked great for me, but it sounds like a 50/50 chance of getting something great or a dud. I ended up selling mine on anticipation of FI. personally sounds like buying an intake isn't worth the $ unless you want to get a new sound.

If you changed your mind based on this thread so far, then you may want to reconsider. @Drift-Office was nice enough to let me send my intake to them and have them test it on a different car; theirs ran like crap too! Turns out that my particular Injen intake(That caused so many problems for me, as seen in this thread) had a manufacturing defect relating to the MAF sensor location...

To confirm, I bought a second Injen intake and installed it only to see a noticeable improvement in power! No CEL, no idle dip, no problems whatsoever! I think the car would perform better with a tune though, as the ECU probably still stays within a very safe zone in its adjustments.(Meaning it probably stays relatively rich on A/F)

Injen may be replacing my first intake for free if they also confirm that it's defective, then i'll test it and probably sell it on eBay.

Kind of restores my confidence. I am putting my Injen on this weekend. Hopefully everything runs smoothly =X

If i may, i would highly recommended the aem intake. Ive been very impressed. The air raid i tried had some top end power to but lacked bottom and stalled alot, aem uses a devise that the maf plugs into to stop this. I had small gains through out, noticeable, and smoother driving and after 5000 rpms she screams.
