The boxer rumble is from the unequal length headers. It's how the exhaust gases exit at different speeds. It really is the sound of inefficiency. You will also get more of a boxer rumble on a NA setup than a turbo. Don't get me wrong I love the boxer rumble, but losing power on a lower hp car just for sound isn't with it.

+1 I totally agree. I'm going UEL when I decide on FI.

It all depends on our budgets, and it's different for everyone. I'm buying American exhaust parts from one of our vendors as I type, but the quality has to be there and the price needs to be reasonable and not put themselves out of the market just because it has a Made in America stamping. In the end it is whatever you are more comfortable and happy with.

Well guys, the exhaust I really like because of construction quality is not made in the USA. It's made in Japan. I need high contruction quality because years to come of driving over salt on the roads after it snows.

Price and quality won me over on this exhaust. Now I wait

Anything with a UEL header and one of the deeper sounding exhausts.

Actually, they described the full testing procedure including cool down times, # of runs, etc. I just picked up the mag last night so i'll scan in the full article and post it in a new thread.

I have it too and read that but you still don't know exactly, on these cars dyno runs can vary so much from run to run i still think 1-2hp each way isn't enough to make that big of difference.

These are catbacks guys. So many variables can affect the dynos. Oil temperature is a big one and unfortunately our cars didn't come with an oil cooler.

over-pipe and front-pipe is where your real gains will be made.

This is the only exhaust (besides the ISIS) that I heard that sounds like an UEL boxer rumble. The cost is over $2,000 and just isn't worth it for a cat back.

I'll be installing a Stromung exhaust in the coming week or so. Knowing them from WRX/STI I would expect to have the deep "subaru" sound their exhausts are known to generate. Ill post a video as soon as I an get it on.

Wow, $589 for a muffler. That's not bad even when adding the cost of a center pipe. Looking forward to vids

This was a Stromung quad tip on my LGT. Loved the deep rumble on it. Not sure how close they will even get to a nice deep rumble with our exhaust setup. I know Stromung will be coming out with an axle back in the coming weeks, but I may just go with something custom as I am collecting exhaust parts.
