I believe that one on the video is the prototype and it might be slightly different than mine. Good thing is that the owner of that car lives 12min away from me and I can check out in person. :happy0180:

I've seen it. I hope it doesn't cause bog/cel issues like other intakes out there.

Perrin is developing two intakes, one is optimized for non tuned cars and shouldn't cause any problems. The other is made for cars with a reflash to get the max power gains available.

I am crossing my fingers for no issues. I will let others experience and if no issues arise I will jump on them lol..

Honestly I don't think anyone right now can say 100% which drop in filter is the best. At least till we see dynos and oil results from the lab.

Dyno's for a drop in filter are all going to be in the margin of error. I would get whichever you prefer, oiled or dry and a quality brand. I don't think any of them are so great you could tell a difference.

I am using k&n and it works fine. I can actually hear the sound of engine sucking in air and my rpm dip at idle is gone.

Negatives about some:
-Do not filter small particles
- Clogging the Mass Airflow Sensor
Here is the testing we did several months ago.

When revving to redline and shifting, you can definitely hear a quick "PSHHH!" of the car taking air in with my K&N as well.

It wouldn't hurt to see oil results. It might seem like there are no differences between all of them them right now but on the long run who knows what affects they can have on engine if they do not filter small particles.

I like K&N, but to be honest I'm scared to go for it just because many reviews say it doesn't filter small particles. Have you used it for a long time with your previous cars?

I agree on the oil results but i was talking about dyno testing air filters for hp gains. They are all going to be pretty close power wise, Works claims big hp gains with theirs but i'm skeptical.

I have the K&N in mine and it works great so far. I've had it in for about 4,000 miles.

I like the WORKS drop in filter. A member who bought it claimed the dyno was from his car that got 10 WHP. We can only take his word for it but that IMO would be the best one out at the moment. Costing a little more then the other ones for a little more gain.

The member who posted here said their other drop in for an EVO or WRX, I forget which one, got 18 whp from independent testers. So their s a chance that the drop in from them will perform well. If anything though it gets a good amount of WHP just from a drop in and perform better then all the intakes on the market. Does anyone think that with that Syms intake that it would be a good gain of WHP? Another posted a very cool theory in the Syms intake thread that combining their intake, a drop in filter and an intake tubing would compliment each other good. Can anyone prove that or maybe know anyone that has had similar set ups on other cars? That looks very intriguing and might end up doing that if I dont go FI until my warranty expires, which wont be for a long time.

I like the PERRIN CAI but in order to maximize the gains you would also need to get a tune. I am not sure if you can reflash the tune to the ECU since I have never had one on a car before but if you can I might just do that. But changing it out every time you go into the dealership for the complimentary oil changes would seem like a bitch since you would need to take off the bumper to uninstall/re install the intake every time. Maybe I would do that after I have my warranty expire but by then I would probably want to go FI with the Vortech S/C if it proves reliable after it expires. 2 years seems like plenty of time to see if its reliable or blow engines up since its still new.
