Can somebody just name a few examples of what you can change with Techstream? Anything useful besides TPMS stuff?

Dumb question. Can you reset the ECU using Techstream? I couldn't find an obvious way. I had no codes, so the ECU screen in the software is mostly a blank screen. I'd just like to be able to do it without pulling a fuse/battery cable.

Yeah, bottom left of the screen. Looks like the CEL on the dash. I couldn't figure out what it was so I clicked on it. It ask if I wanted to clear all of the DTCs.

I tried this yesterday and have one question. You can change the Auto Lights settings for the BRZ, Dark1 Dark2 Light1 Light2.

I know in the BRZ Manual it says this can be adjusted to -40% -20% +20% +40%

So I was wondering, which one of these numbers corresponded to the Dark/Light 1/2.

(My guess is they work accordingly to the order I wrote but its always good to have confirmation).

It is going to depend on what version of the car you have but for example on my BRZ limited:
Driver side Seat Belt Chime
Passenger side seat Belt chime
Head light sensitivity: dark 2 dark 1 normal light 1 light 2
(I am assuming that it comes on the earliest with light 2 but I am not sure)
A whole bunch of AC controls that I left alone
How long/when the interior light comes on
Several option for the door locks (depends on model)
(The list goes on)

If you are at all technically minded I think getting this cable and software from ebay for $30 is an absolute no brainer. Caveats are that it is possible, if you are not moderately careful, to mess up your car & that the software's user license is "dubious"

Yes it is. If you're using your own computer/laptop, it is definitely TIS Lite. Look here for more info:

Ok, from a Tundra document it looks like it goes from

dark <--------------> light

dark 2 -- dark 1 -- normal -- light 1 -- light 2

One last thing, the dark 2 setting means it will be darker before the lights come one, while the light 2 means there will still be sun and the auto lights will come on?

That is how I read it. Just from a curiosity perspective are you trying to adjust your headlights so it comes on when it is lighter or darker out. I want them to come on when it is lighter out.

I need to adjust them to come on when it is darker, so I'm guessing trying dark 1. I have a tinted windshield with 80% film and want to compensate for that.

Oh, that make sense. With 80%, if it were me, I would try dark 2.

But remember 80% in tint terms means 20% protection 80% light passes through, so in reality its a slight change I need. I think 80% protection and only 20% light pass through is a recipe for an accident! I guess I'll try it out on the weekend and post here results.

I need to try it I guess. I don't have any DTC's to clear, so I didn't investigate further. I wanted the ECU to un-learn my slow ass break-in driving.

I swear the traction control also has some learning abilities. I thought I'd screwed it up after resetting the ECU. It seemed to require much more aggressive driving to make it intervene.
