if you truly understand how light weight really takes its toll on acceleration youd be amazed how 20-30hp will make this car insanely better. if the frs and brz had another 40-50 hp it really would be perfection which i intend to gain around that with bolt ons i really could care less about an sti or trd version of our cars. i think the one we have is wonderful, if people want turbo or supercharger they have them on after market, yes it will void warrantee but you also only need to spend around 3800 $ for the AVO turbo kit to put down 250 wheel which is around 275-285 at the crankshaft.

most likely they will raise the price by 7-8000 so this car being an affordable lightweight fuel efficient fun sports car will no longer be in that category.

turbo eats more fuel when you go into boost, maintenance will be more, price tag higher. no longer the affordable everyday joes sports car. at that point id rather get an STI it would actually be around the same price or less since you can haggle price with the STI. this is just my thoughts on this but. i like the twins the way they are with bolt ons they would be marvelous.

to me its just the 2 companies trying to appease the cry babies who wanted a turbo model and care about numbers.

me i care not about hp or trq on paper for this car. i didnt even ask how much power it had when i went into the dealer. i didnt ask about how fast it could go or its 0-60 i didnt care.

It's going to be hard for me to consider trading my 2013 unless the price is right, the brakes are actually better (not just bigger), the suspension is better (not just stiffer), the aero is real (not just a big wing), and they actually did something significant to intake/exhaust (not just an intake and an STi catback) like open up the heads and make them better, with a significant bump in redline up to say 8500. All this and keep it same weight or lighter.

All that will actually make the STi BRZ a really better car. You can't do that for $2-4K bump in MSRP.

Fan of the brakes, (maybe the seats), and engine tweaks. Everything else you can keep it and I'm sure it will be in the $5.5k - $6.5k premium over the current model.

Unless they're willing to take a hit on profit margin for the car. But that goes against Business 101.

Not sure what the rush is to have a higher performance model out already. It's not like they're having a problem selling what's out now. Normally a high performance model comes out to help boast sales and bring new interest to an existing model. It would be smart for them to wait until year three for that and year four as a cosmetic refresh.

Well said SUB-FT86 . Actual package is pretty nice and works nicely. Mazda understood that way earlier with the Miata (nimble, lightweight, reliable and affordable RWD fun car). The success recipe for longevity.

Let tuners mod their cars if they want it alot more hedgy...

If $3200 more for the STI and it has all of those upgrades, that is a steal! I see it in hindsight to how the GSR was to the Type R. I remember the Type R was 27K, about 5K more than the GSR and had the better engine, better gear ratio, better brakes and the nice little exterior and interior upgrades to make it that much more exclusive.
