Here is a list of what I installed.

Advanced Keys 104B Push start/Smart Keyless system
BRZ start switch panel
BRZ trunk request switch (love this one!)
The part numbers are in my previous post...

Soon to be iDatalink FRS/BRZ module. This module will take care of my power door lock issue and the imobilizer code and also give me a solid tach signal for the remote start. I tapped into the port injector wire, but it was a little to weak for the Advanced key system input specs. It worked anyway once I programmed the tach input on module. Since the idatalink has a tach output I will probably switch it over.

My review so far? It does what it says..... For now I just leave my key in the ignition in the on position. This is for the imobilizer and steering lock. Later with the iDatalink this wont be needed anymore and i will likely remove the ignition cylinder completely and place the BRZ ign. cyl. cover over the hole.

What is super cool is our cars have a nuetral switch on the manual trans. Remote start is good to go!

Things I don't like?

Holding the start switch down for 2 sec. with the brake pedal pushed to shut down. Still doing research to see if this can be changed to single push shut down.

I will get more videos up once I get the iDatalink installed and working. This is a quick vid I did to show you my progress....

-Aloha-

Can you post a link for the Idatalink? I've been meaning to do this for a long time and all the advise I got was "would have been cheaper turnning a BRZ into a FRS" haha

I ordered the iDatalink ADSALCA Immobilizer Bypass and doorlock. I also ordered ADS-USB adapter to program the module. This is the first time I have done this type of install. The iDatalink website is really confusing, so I hope I go the right stuff.

I called iDatalink this morning and was told they can take care all of the programming via a remote connection through my laptop. I recieved the USB updater cable today, just waiting for the Module now. I hope its here Friday so I can get to the end of this journey and give a better DIY.

Well, I got bad news.... My idatalink module arrived today, but I was dissapointed to find out that for Subaru's/FRS you will need two ADS-AL CA's to do all the things I want it to do. I saw this somewhere on the forum and I can't find it now, but someone posted they needed 2 modules to make it work (props to whoever that was). I called iData today for the USB driver for the USB updater. We got that going now but they also confirmed I needed to order another Module. I just ordered it form Amazon. Lucky for you that live near a distributor/reseller you could get it locally. Not so lucky for me here in Hawaii.

So the story continues......

Update:
One module will be needed for the Door locks/Convienence items: See attached PDF:ADS-AL(DL)-SUB-EN-9774
Second module will take care of the Transponder bypass: See attached PDF: ADS-AL(TB)-SUB-EN-9780
They are the same modules, but they will be flashed differently for each task.

Good news is atleast these modules are pretty small.

Since I only have one I flashed it for Door Locks interface. I will get it installed this weekend.

This will be one massive DIY... haha!

Hi guys/gals, I finally finished my push start last week. I wanted to get a video and pics up, but I got very busy this weekend. I will try and see what I can do this week. I would love to do a full DIY, but it could get very lengthy.... Hopefully this week I can get an updated video finished. I will try to give all of the Part #s and give a explanation of what I did and how it operates. I am not going to do wire for wire DIY, sorry. Although I would be glad to answer any question you have on the install.

Now I just need to get a TRD start switch....

Aloha,

I'm not sure if this is the correct thread to post in. But would it be possible to wire the basic functions of the BRZ/GT 86 climate controls front plate and replace the frs/ base model 86 climate control switches?

Or is this something that just cannot be done?

Hi Everyone, Sorry for dragging my "A$$" on this. I finally had some time to get a DIY video going on this. This is just the first of a few videos that I will try to share with you. This first one is a short clip explaining the parts I used for the install besides the factory parts I from the BRZ. Which are listed in the prior posts.

In next videos that I am working on, will go into further detail on the Transponder Bypass, Door Lock Interface and the way I decided to removed the steering lock. And lastly I will have one showing the operation of the system.

Aloha,

No, if you want to replace the climate control system COMPLETELY, you would have to replace the entire control unit + additional internal parts. To give it a face lift like what you're asking for is not possible.
