Its supposed to help prevent getting rear ended by inattentive drivers,( which most traffic accidents are rear-enders). It's about $30, and easy to install.

I have this on my BRZ and I have get around to installing it on the Forester.

Just ordered one of those. Was the install straight forward on the BRZ?

Uploading a few pics from my phone now. I don't think it's as bad as you guys think, seeing as I was a good distance from the driver in front of me and the Jeep couldn't have been going faster than 30.

Went up about 3 inches, can't actually open the hood.

Edit: The rest of the pictures aren't very good, as these were taken at the time of the accident. I'll show you guys some better quality ones +more soon. And sorry they were all individual posts, they're from my phone.

Yeah, diagram is straight forward, you'll just need to know which is the hot wire. Easy to access the wires right inside the trunk. I love mine and I can see people behind me becoming alert to my brake light.

@Mr. J good job stopping a good distance behind the car in front, damage could have been worse otherwise. I always leave extra room between me and the car in front in case I need to maneuver or get rear ended.
