This is a huge pet peeve I have in Ga. Lazy asses!!!

If you think about it flicking the indicator is the easiest/shortest task in life. It takes 0.5-1 second!!! It not like washing the dishes or some other chores.

You take some long blinks...

I'm so used to using my blinkers out of habit that I've even caught myself using them during an HPDE on track when coming into a tight corner. The first time I did it was on VIR South course coming into turn 1. My instructor caught it and was like "everyone knows where you're going"

I will admit that I do not use my turn signal every time I make a move. For the most part, if there's no one around, I have a bad habit of not using it. Interestingly enough, I've developed a habit of checking my mirrors before even thinking about turning, and if I see someone, I put the signal on, if not, I leave it. That being said, I signal every lane change on the interstate, regardless of if any one is around. The one place I don't think a signal is all that necessary is a turn only lane. I very rarely use mine there.

I also cuss out every single person that waits until the last second to put the signal on, after slamming on their brakes, or doesn't use a signal at all. It really bugs the hell out of me. Also, while on the subject of pet peeves, slow people in the left lane. I hate when someone decides they want to pass someone else by getting in the left lane, but won't go any faster than a couple of mph more than the guy they're passing. Speed up, pass him, get back over. Not hard.

My blinker is a habit, I use it everywhere...in the parking lot, even turning onto a one-way street.
It's easier to make it a habit, I never have to think about it, and I don't have to worry about getting into trouble with someone else guessing which way I'm going or getting ticketed for not using it on the highway.
I think there is no excuse for not using it.
Anyone who is not mentally competent enough to use it appropriately shouldn't be allowed to drive on the street.

This is not directed at anyone, since I didn't read any of the above posts:
It's not cool, or badass or optional to not use blinkers on the streets.
Follow the rules of the road and be considerate of others.
Use them !!!!!!
lol

I get it, but you really do want to get out of that habit. Some clubs use blinkers as a point-by signal e.g. when it's pouring rain and they allow windows up, so you could be misunderstood.

I have a theory about increased automobile safety being the cause of more stupid drivers. Because of all the safety features that have been added to cars over time, it's become easier and easier to survive a crash. Those survivors procreate and the defective genetics are passed on to their offspring. Those offspring survive and mate, thus increasing the occurrence of the deficient DNA in each successive generation. Repeat over the decades from the first seat belts to today, and there you have it, we're overrun with idiots.

Yeah I don't care if people cut me off even if they let it blink only for half a sec. I usually get mad but then relax because "oh they had their blinker on, thats cool." People who just turn without blinking makes me want to become the richest guy ever and just crash into them as a lesson.

I have a similar theory. What I see happening is that people actually *rely* on the safety features to save them and they can't be bothered to use common sense. Decades ago, on the first day of driver's ed they made everyone watch these gruesome gory movies about car crashes to drive home the point that you want to avoid ending up like that. Now people just walk away unscathed from those kinds of accidents :P

Not only do we love using blinkers, we specifically love using ORANGE blinkers. They are far superior to all-red assemblies. Even if there's a glare from sunlight, or a perfectly arranged bulb failure to make you wonder "Is he using the brakes, or about to turn?" -- orange signals are the best. We are ecstatic that the FRS and BRZ have them. We can't wait to get one, and use them every day. EVERY DAY. Blinkers are fun!
