I figured this mod out in seconds. I use a dermal to cut them open takes no more than 10mins to each light open. I used an awesome sealant that only takes 30mins to hold and a full 3 hours to cure.

I can do this for anyone who wants to get it done right and is too scare too. This isnt my FRS this is a member who is one here. Hit me up if you are local and scared to get it done. Its hard for those who have never done this before. Took me like 5 mins to figure out how to cut these open with ease. =)

yeah with the black housing. you were asking why there weren't any aftermarket parts with this mod already, no? just showing that there is an option for black housing without having to cut his open and painting them yourself. these also don't have the red side markers on the tail lights.

Are you sure? They seem like regular ones with the chrome reflecting the black from the paint...

They look blacked out to me. The black on the sides is still there in the pics where the lights arent on the car and in the pic on the white car. Worth $600? Not in my opinion, but not a horrible price either.

Anyone know if this will work for sealing it. I already have a roll.

I will also be plastic welding sections all the way around.

Hmmm, this method looks smoother than the dremel way. I think I may do my lights with a soldering iron instead.

OP, you're the best!!!

Completed this mod today on my SWP BRZ. Definitely looks much better. I am however dissapointed that the cut at the bottom of both lights is visible up close. It is worse on the first light I did. I will note that I used a differnt tip that is wider and thus removes more material. Definitely nerve wracking at first, but worth the effort. It'll do for a year till I get some Valenti taillights.

Kudos to the OP.
