The question should be Civic v/s Renault Fuego. What a crapcan. Never understood the Si fascination, even though I owned an Integra GSR. The Focus SVT was a newer design and I liked it better.

If you need the Civic's room, buy a Focus ST. If you don't, but a Toyobaru.

So you trust Ford's quality over Honda's? Has cannabis been legalized in your state yet?

uh this isn't 1998 when fords were shit

ford's been good for the past few years. I guess the stigma still carries over for some people

I for one would choose the focus over the 9th civic no problem

^this. Ford has made huge leaps and bounds in quality and reliability since 2000.

Aside from Ford Sync, I don't see much wrong with them. I have lots of respect for them for not taking a bailout from the government.

They got rid of Sync a year or so ago, its been replaced by the "MyFordTouch" system, whatever that is.

Finally someone who knows what they are talking about. I bet most of these people who has commented have never done research on an FD2 Type R.

In the end, automobile performance all boils down to optimizing its mass, the distribution of that mass on the car and your ability to change its velocity (speed and direction). Focusing just on 2WD and all other variables such as cost being equal, the fundamental mathematical expression for choice of engine location and drive wheels looks like this:

FF < FR < RR < MR

This is because the largest concentration of mass is generally the engine/drivetrain and directional forces (ignoring aero generated) are all facilitated by the friction between tires and road.

I was about to say, without proper alignment, you're going to have a Chevy Corvair with the RR format.
