I think most of the "new stuff" was introduced before SEMA. There's still a steady amount of development on the 86 platform though. This car had so many companies making parts faster then I've seen for anything.

Was there something specific you were looking for?

Reviews are coming in slowly. It'll take time. Videos....YouTube has a bunch and I'm sure more are being added daily. Just buy something and make your own.

I agree, I haven't been in on a car this early in the game before, but I'm disappointed with concrete activity. The two kits people seem most interested in, AVO and Perrin/Vortech are sloooow with updates, mainly just threads full of bickering; every intake causes issues, and no new developments I've heard of there; there are about 1 million header back exhausts now, but everyone (read Perrin and Nameless) stopped development on headers, or at least aren't saying anything; slow to no new news on coilover kits, Bilstein doesn't have anything I've seen, Koni just started releasing some news; no datalogging solutions that I'm aware of (does Ecutek support this?); no support from Cobb, no shifter assembly upgrades; no flood of updates like I also expected after SEMA; am I just new to this "new car" thing, or is it a little slow seeming to anyone else too?

The aftermarket for this car has developed EXTREMELY fast in comparison to other cars. We are just spoiled. Everything you could possibly want/need exists by AT LEAST one manufacturer if not many.

What is it you want to buy, that you can't?

I figured it was just me ha. Honestly, I just want more options, you're right that almost everything is offered by one manufacturer, a couple of things I'm looking for are manufacturer specific though. I want to see short throw shifter/shift assembly replacements, Bilstein's suspension solutions, headers from guys like Perrin and Nameless, single exit exhausts, and options! The big one for me is a good data logging solution, I'm spoiled with my Cobb AP on my Speed3 and come from a world where everyone's got datalogs and can tell exactly what is happening with each mod. I know this is a different audience, a new learning curve and what not, guess I just gotta give it more time.

Try to remember, they get the car the same day that we do. Toyota/Subaru doesnt give out the car early for them to start testing parts. That means those who are making parts for the car have to get a look, design parts, get them machined, test them, tweak them, rebuild parts as necessary, maybe multiple times, etc. And we definitely arent the only car that they are working on. They still have to support every other car on the market (that they build parts for anyway). It might be a little slow (though I dont think it is considering Perrin said that their tune with a Vortec kit was likely to be available to the first customers before Christmas), but I'd rather them take things slow and get it right the first time as opposed to putting out faulty items.

Also, they have to pay close attention to the information that they do reveal. Reveal too much and you give your competition information that perhaps they might not have. Or, if you reveal information that gets changed before the final product is released, then you have a case of potential false advertising, which is something else they dont want to do. Better to stay quite and, again, get it right the first time.

Not trying to be rude....but I disagree with pretty much everything you said. I find it difficult to keep up with all the new stuff coming out. There's at least a half dozen coilover kits available with more on the way.

As for general development, I think the major mfg's are recognizing the following this car is getting and are now keeping their specific data to themselves to reduce the likelyhood of their designs being ripped off. So oI would expect much detail being posted up on forums. It's already happening so I understand their desire to protect their development plans.

Ecutek can datalog. Soon enough the open source community is going to have options for this ECU as well, and than there will be free datalogging available as well. I have a friend on their development team, should be THAT much longer. I am shocked Cobb flat out said they are not doing an AP for these cars, I am still waiting for the "we were just kidding guys here is an AP" day.

I got you if you are waiting for a particular manufacturer.

At first I thought this was a troll thread. Crawford is offering built motors and forged internals are being sold already, and folks think a car released mid-2012 doesn't have much aftermarket support?

I for one am glad that vendors are taking time to R&D products and keep folks informed rather than releasing parts haphazardly to uninformed consumers.

No offense taken, as I stated, following developments on a brand new car is a new experience for me. As I said to No Limits, I guess I'm just waiting on specific products from specific companies, specifically when it comes to headers and coilovers, but I don't feel there have been a lot of new releases lately, just things in the works. I haven't seen a ton of datalogging (at least no one I see is posting logs) or options to do so that I'm thrilled with, you can't deny intakes are buggy and essentially pointless thus far, and most things are "in development" vs finished product. I'm excited about the potential, just impatient.
