I have a sneaking suspicion it's not just due to the fuel pump.
I had mine replaced about 2 weeks ago, was fine for 2 days, chirp came back. I hear it more now, came back stronger.. So sad.

This is why I am reluctant. My chirp is not bad at all. The last thing I want is for it to get louder from a "fix".

i dont know it might be it is a mechanical issue for sure. so my best guess is if you get the chirp and they come out with the final fix, they will most likely contact you if they are a decent dealership. my dealer told me if there are any issues on the TSB list that need to be fixed they will contact every owner that they have sold a car too. they just practice excellent customer satisfaction and great business

Johnston's Toyota of middle town NY gotta say im quite impressed.

the reason it could very well be a recall is because it is the Plunger on the pump that is not seated properly. my guess is that it may not be the exact perfect size or good material that it causes a squeak. since it is a mechanical thing, it will break or wear out over time, that being said it could cause a HPFP failure. but so far the highest milage to date that i know of is somehwhere around 10,000 miles. not enough in my experience as a mech to wear it out all the way. since it is being sort of lubricated by fuel and ethanol. some have thought it is caused by Ethanol but im not too sure thats the case. only time will tell i really hope it can be fixed cause its sort of annoying to me hearing a chirping sound in a brand new car.

I brought mine in last week and they told me they would order a new part. Then they called the next day and said that I already had the new part and it was "Performing to manufacturer's specifications". I asked them, "If the old one was recalled because of noise, and the replacement part makes the same noise....it seems that your "fix" is simply re-defining the specification, no?"

Dead silence on their end....
