Seeing as how the issue keeps popping up, I'll wait a little longer before taking mine in.

I had mine fixed about 2 months ago...then had the ECU replaced about 2 weeks ago for the CEL/SCL issue. Right after receiving my FR-S back from the dealership, as soon as I got home (about 10 miles away) the chirping came back...now mind you this is after they already replaced the fuel pump once. I have a sneaking suspicion it's not just due to the fuel pump.

Replace a fuel pump....
with the same exact fuel pump
expect different results

this is called insanity.

it actually is sir. my friend is a tech at toyota and the report given to them is that the part will be replaced by request of owner, but its still the same HPFP from manufacture until they fix the plunger problem youll get the same HPFP that will give you the crickets. he told me to wait.

It's never going to be a recall sadly, no safety issue, just noise... :S

It's not a recall, but it is a warranty issue and there is a TSB for the fix. If you take your car in and they hear the chirping, they'll fix it via the TSB free of charge.

The only difference between this and a recall is that the customer has to bring the issue to the dealership's attention rather than the other way around.

At this point, I'm just like "let it chirp". Just finding it hard to care nowadays...
