Assuming you torqued the bolt correctly I would say get your head in there while the engines running and hit the throttle a couple times. You should be able to find it. It's also possible you got a pulley that's out of balance, but that's highly unlikely..

oh, and you did get the pulley lined up on the key, right?. Look at it while it's running and see if the pulley looks like it's wobbling.

I think this is a pretty common noise for our cars. Some say its in the VVT. I hear a similar noise from the rear end on a shift, likely LSD.

it spins perfectly, no wobbling. when i am just sitting parked and hit the throttle it sounds fine, its only when i put my foot on the clutch to shift up around 3-5k rpm that i get the honk/rubbing noise. and yes i lined up the key correctly idk what it is or if its even the pulley causing it but its got me worried. no issues aside from the noise but im worried im going to get on it one day and see my pistons on the road shortly after.

Watch the tach next time you shift, bet you're just climbing a few revs when you put the clutch in to shift.

I just recently started to hearing a very slight honk/duck quack noise when i shift. I always usually have the music turned on so I just started heard it for the first time last night. At first, i thought it was the shift light/beep but i had turned off the beep and limited to the light only. It only happens sometimes but something I listen for....any idea what it could be?

guys. it's something to do w/ the transmission, most likely a bearing. this has nothing to do w/ the perrin pulley as the belt is constantly moving regardless of what your transmission is doing. i have this problem too. the best way to ignore it until they release a fix for it is to just have really clean shifts.

Well my shifts are usually clean but I hear the noise right when I press the clutch down and before moving the shifter so it's really before I shift. I just hope it's nothing serious...the honk sounds stupid and harmless but if it's the tranny then I'm getting a little worried here.
