Correct, Vortech told Perrin that this blower can support up to about 15psi.

usable target is about 9psi...aiming higher than that, well you could, but why? finding a balanced solution is the goal. As soon as hp and tq numbers are out you'll see it here

I'm still waiting for dynos so we can see what kind of torque curve we're dealing with here.

Ok corrected 80 HP at 5 psi, but thats not much at all and the most important fact its only at MAX REV .

Its about area under the curve.

So at say 5,000 rpm what you have is probably 35 Hp really nothing.

There is a thought your car can do 180 kms/hr , well yes , do you do it all the time , well no.

There is no reason for putting a small powered turbine SC . Put the biggest and control the output.

Your far better using a smaller pulley , getting the boost up way low and controlling the max boost.

Why ? well easy answer that 9 psi is only at red line.

Balanced solution ? you describing a Turbo set up.

The turbine SC is just a pump , air compressor , if you use it properly you control the psi.

Then vary it on the mods you have.

As far as waiting for hp and tq numbers , well i dont have to wait as they wont be much and it will only show whats going on with the tune

Forget about you told what , where are the specs for that SC ?

IF it be 15 psi and you are seeing only 8 psi therefore the kit is being out fitted with a larger pulley What a waste BUT at least latter on you can install a smaller pulley.

If it isnt then the unit has low air compressing capability and it wasted money because as soon as your satified with the power you will want more.

Fun fact: If you click the " button next to the quote button you can queue up multiple quotes in one post instead of spamming the crap out of this thread.

Here i will describe it in simple terms.

Vortech or Rotrex or any other centrifugal blower just blows air relative to the belt.

The amount it blows is directly proportional to
a) gearing
b) size

Its maximum that it will blow is directly proportional to the pulleys used to get that maximum.

You will get maximum ( which the kit will do do to its size and pulley size ) at maximum revs.

Anything lower than 7,600 rpm and you get less.

Turbo guys balance theirturbo to give power low and carry that psi to red line.

Well thats what you want to do. Get the electronics to control max boost, the same way traction control controls traction

Here is a big Rotrex SC same one ive put in my car but the plot is of another car

Its boost it being controlled by a waste gate.

Another point being most kits are so very conservative and really have only the hard ware as thats the easy part. A real kit will also include the electronics and which have been properly tuned and mapped. More time is spent on that than any of the fabrication.

Thank you , something i learnt today

Maybe others have learnt something and might review the way the look at a SC , whether its a Vortech or and other centrifugal blower

EDIT

Just realised that this 80 hp is only on a dyno pac. The increase might be there but its relatiive to what the STD engine does as a percentage , about 40% .

Dyno pac will always have higher numbers.

Ive searched but cant seem to find any island plots ?

Are there any ?

Mandalay, thats enough. Get a vendor account and start another thread.
If you dont think this is the kit for you, build use and enjoy your own.

Reread the title of this thread. Youre making a fool of yourself.I really suggest you pitch your turbo, your rotrex, or piss on their solution elsewhere. Its in poor taste and form on your part here. I would suggest you delete your posts of drivel here, and seek somewhere else to naysay a solution.

Your posts arent adding value. As soon as Vortech is ready to release results I'll let you know.
