You were quoted on this so it should have showed up at the top of your screen under post quotes. If you're trolling, STAHP PLEES.

Is there some inside joke here or are you just being a ****?
Wow you sure helped me see how dumb I am. I was quoting sarcastically the first time and apparently no one picked that up. Trolllolo

But was the camera in the car at the time? It might have been one of those externally-mounted dashboard cams.

Did you read the OP's post? If you meant the OP anyways, yes, the camera was in the car and recording.

To those saying "it is just an econobox", how expensive does a car have to be before it isn't ok to abuse it? Since when is $25k a small amount of money. From a business perspective, I'd immediately fire a tech like him. Bad for business.

You'll be hard pressed to get anything more than an apology and free service from the dealer.

The tech need not exceed the normal operating rpm of the vehicle. The tech did not damage the car in any way that would not be within normal wear/tear for your car. You may not drive your car the way he did, but the car was designed to be driven from 750rpm to 7400rpm.

Talk to TMS or Scion if you want or talk to the kid that did it and ask for an apology.

7 miles could be 3.5mi out and back. Seems like a reasonable amount of testing to me.
The OP indicated that at least one of the abuse video segments occurred prior to installing the pump so the idea that the tech was testing his install is not a valid argument.

Well unless he was driving it to get a before and after of what the pump did under strain so he could compare once the new one was installed.

Is it just me or did it say this car was LEASED? While I understand the service guys should not drive the car this way, technically it's a rental car (more or less). Is it a lease with an option to buy? If the dash cam points out the front window, how do you know he red lined it? Yeah I'd go to the owner of the dealership with the video and say "if this car is being treated like this, how about other customers?" What they'll do for you, maybe nothing, but posting the video will certainly keep other owners from taking their car there, and that might get you something.

Oh come on now... post #47 on page 3... he wasn't testing the clutch/drivetrain lolz. I think we could agree, from the description, the dude was having some fun with the car (of course I'd like to see the video, though). I think the real question probably is, is it a big deal?

The worst part about this is the owner had no choice but to entrust their car to someone who potentially cares less about it than they do. That's the problem with a warranty. My dealership offers free oil changes and car washes, etc... but I won't take them up it. After they "cleaned my car for delivery" I spent the next Saturday with the PorterCable removing the swirl marks.

You'll more than likely get an apology and a free oil change. BFD

Show the video and make them lose business IMO.

Do you redline your car when it's cold? Do you dump the clutch on your car when it's cold?

Do you believe that customer's property should be treated with respect?

Your answers to those questions will determine whether or not it's a "big deal" to you.

+1

After reading the first post, this is what I thought it. The guys who fill up your gas tank probably redlined, peeled out and kicked out the rear on the way to the station and on the way back.

I would definitely put them on blast. Call up the service manager, the local news, jalopnik etc!
