I guess I'm on the camp that thinks some of you are WAY overreacting. Should he report it? Yes. It should be known to the dealership that an employee is riding a customer car a bit hard. Should you demand a new car? A free bodykit? LOL. No. Maybe a free oil change. There's a redline for a reason. The car is meant to be driven to it. The fuel pump was just replaced and he certainly verified that the install worked. Whoopdeedoo.
We aren't driving exotic cars people. it's an econobox.

It matters not. It is wrong to mistreat a customer car, period. It has nothing to do with the value or type of the car. It has to do with being responsible and considerate and ethical and legal and not-a-total-douchebag.

I would say you're UNDER-reacting. That is absolutely awful, and whoever did that MUST DIE!
Okay, now I'm over-reacting. But I would think that diagnosing a CEL would involve using on-board diagnostics and actual under-hood time. Looks like this guy was just trying to mess around with someone else's property. Take the video to the place you had your car serviced, and complain to the manager and say you want your money back. That is absolutely ridiculous. We live in such a ME-ME-ME society today and don't respect other people's property. It's about time we bucked that trend. |
