perhaps the reason why the cover for the airbox shape that way is to help sheild the heat from the exahust headders from entering into the intake compartment.

I see the MAF is in the right place, my biggest question is if they put air straighteners around the MAF or not? Enquiring minds want to know......

From what the guy at the booth said, was that yes they would be pursuing carb legality, typically most AEM intakes are carb legal

I had an AEM CAI on my Mazdaspeed6. No complaints. I'll definitely be looking at this intake as i think it's the best configuration of the bunch.

- Clean stock looking heat shield unlike the air raid.
- No ugly, turbulence causing, sound tube opening to have to plug like the Greddy/AFE/Takeda.
- Has a proper seal to the factory intake snorkel unlike the Injen.
- Easier to install than the Perrin unit.
- MAF sensor flange is tucked away from the elements inside the heat shield.
- The filter itself is much larger than the AFE variants.
- AEM dry filter is very convenient. No oiling.
- MAF sensor looks like it's got some engineering behind it's configuration and associated air fins.

Very clean looking unit that answered all my gripes about the other units on the market now. Having said that, i'll still wait for some independent dyno testing to pull the trigger.

P.S. The exhaust looks like it should be a winner as well. It's using the same configuration as the Perrin, Isis, magnaflow, and TRD... the first three which showed gains across the entire rev range in Dsports exhaust shoot out (TRD was not part of the shootout).

It's legalese. All the bigger companies will have disclaimers like that. I'll continue to contend that intakes make little power - none safely without a tune.

I'm excited for this since AEM does make good stuff, Idk about the air box cover though, but if it does function I suppose why not. But this should be good.
