AEM Intake System - SEMA 2012 Coverage

FT-86 Speedfactory is spending our week in Las Vegas at the 2012 SEMA show. Obviously, we are concentrating on products that will soon be releasing for the FRS/BRZ platform.

We spoke with George from AEM and got a sneak peak at some of their new products coming out for our cars. AEM will be releasing a new intake system, stealth cat-back exhaust, and front strut tower bar in the coming months.

AEM has been in the aftermarket game for many years, and we are excited for the release of these products. We spoke at length about their intake system and have high expectations for the quality and performance it will offer.

Take a look for yourselves:coolpics:

Judging the length of the inlet, I presume the stock snorkel is required, else will turn out like 2forme has tested on airaid , suck in hot air

It's a shame that I probably wont be able to use it. PA uses CA emissions standards....I think.

Intake looks the same as all the other bolt in boxes. Bleh.

Off topic, what are the tubes on top of the strut bars in the first picture?

Seems like an Airaid Intake to me.

Exhaust is like Perrins.

Not that they are copying but I do wonder if thats really the only few ways to do it.

"Huge power gains" but no dynos to back it up? C'mon, AEM.

Even if they post dynos, doesn't mean they actually resemble real world performance. Especially with intakes.

True, still, I would expect a company of AEM's stature to provide them. Meh, oh well.

That's not even the real AEM, AEM only owns the electronics side, K&N owns the filter side.
