Keep an eye on 1saleaday.com, I've seen some alright Cannon's on there for about the price you're looking for. Think it was the T3i actually. EoS Rebel

Think woot had a sale on some Nikon cameras not too long ago either.

Random anyway, saw someone rolling around in a new FR-S where I live, hopefully I'll get to catch up with them. Enjoy finding out what attracts people to these cars.

I was going to suggest the T3i too! I have a T2i myself and the one thing I wish my camera had now that I use it more often was a removable flip LCD screen. If there are some good deals out there for the T3i this black friday I might pick one up.

Also, for the record, I hate snow.

Snow is why I bought an STI instead of a Corvette. I wanted to love it

It's not so much that I mind driving in it now, since I have snow tires, but I've always hated it. Eventually I'll move south.

I don't blame you. I think I'd miss it too much. And my dog loves it.

I think I would too eventually, but I'd rather make a trip up for a week or so and experience the cold/snow without having to live through it everyday.

Ye. I say its a nice beginners one because its versatile and not too 'spensib. You want to worry more about nice lens than camera body tbh.

Also this is the costco price.
https://www.costco.com/OrderItemDisp...10701&orderId=.

That's $779.99. Its a bit out of your price range but there are cheaper ones.

I'll help you search.

A lot of times you can check on slickdeals.net to find deals. They're going to have their black friday and cyber monday list up soon.

*edit*
If you check on the slickdeals.net site, there's a deal going on for the T3i at bestbuy.

Yeah, T3i is nice. I have a T2i and there have been a number of occasions where I was filming and would have wanted the flip out screen.

FIRST LENS TO BUY!!!

50mm f/1.8.

You can get them for DIRT CHEAP now because they are old, and they produce excellent low aperture photos! If you want to impress the common man, then it's all about that BOKEH!

A prime lens is an excellent lens to have in addition to the 18-55 kit lens, because you can do pretty much everything with those lenses.

For car photography, they're perfect. And even for film! I have been using the 18-55 and the 50mm pretty much exclusively in my films and never had an issue. Rarely do the bigger zoom lenses come into play in a film.

I have the T3i because.. well that's all there was at the time, but have been investing a looooooot in lens and technique.

Six Sigma is not the *Perfect Process* that can be blindly applied to everything to save the world. It is merely a mathematical terms of 3.4 error in one million products produced. So in order to reach that kind of quality control, how many layers of verifications are required to achieve that, and how much money the government can produce (urrr... they do not generate revenue, stupid, my bad..) to sustain such a program?

On the bright side, you can ask the government to continue improving their process, if the money is spent on the right stuff. But we are venturing into political avenue here which I do not want to continue.
3.4 errors in one million products produced.

Think of "products" in terms of the service they provide. Think of errors as in paying out social security when they don't need to. Or paying out too much, too little, w/e.

I think that it is a goal. Again... my post said to Imagine if they met the that 3.4 errors in 1 million "products" produced. That means that things would operate at a much higher efficiency.

Higher "production" is useless without the correct quality being there.

Going further... the DMAIC process could be used to improve upon their current process. Maybe the goal of Six Sigma is too far a reach. Maybe just get the quality to 5 sigma. That would be an improvement as well. Either way... it's the concept behind the teachings of Six Sigma.

It's not simply a 3.4 errors per million thing. It's how to approach it that is important. Or else it'd be pretty easy to get a green belt for six sigma. :P
