No, only the secondary cat is retained. The primary is removed... because turbo.

I feel ya. I wonder if you could get an exhaust shop to weld up the stock cat in the straight pipe under the car. I mean, if you REALLY wanted to go the AVO route.

Because of the placement of the primary cat, I'm willing to bet a large majority (if not all) turbo kits/headers will eliminate it.

Question for AVO, what specifically do you plan to offer in the way of exhaust manifold/housing/downpipe coatings.

I have heard good things about Swain's TBC-EX.

So if the 1st Cat disappears does that mean to O2 sensor has to relocated to avoid CELs?

@AVOturboworld

Hi avoturboworld

There's been a significant amount of interest on Australian forums on the turbo kit including myself. Many of us are wondering if it will be emissions certified as the police enforce this very heavily down under and its not fun / a lot of pain when you get pulled over - which is kinda stopping me from purchasing if its not emissions legal even tho I'd really like the kit

If it can be made so it passes this I know that I and many others would be keen to go ahead with purchasing this great kit *so fingers crossed*

Kharn these are the JDM/US guys for AU specific stuff speak to Lee @ AVO Melb. His response on this topic was:

This is something that has been discussed and will at some stage be considered.
Not very optimistic so might be best if you get it engineered yourself.

Modify at your own risk/expense. "Emissions" requirements as do legality of modification vary from state to state...would be nice, but a stretch for an aftermarket turbo kit to come "emissions" certified.

The ECUTek tune will get rid of any CEL coming from the O2 sensor.
