I was leaving a bar, and walking to my car. I had parked in the lot next door because I didn't want drunks throwing up on my car and whatever. I got to my car and saw a few drunk guys sitting in and around a Genesis (it was one of the few cars also in that parking lot). They were still drinking and clearly buzzed already. This guy saw me get in my car and ran up to me. Through his slurred speech, he manged to tell me, "I love your car, man! Sorry, I had to give your car a kiss. You are living the life! Call me up if you ever go clubbing or something!" I thanked him, he went back to drinking with his friends, and I left after quickly checking to see if him or his drunk friends scratched my car. I had no idea who he was.

I love to drive it. But anyone who asks I tell them, its great to drive but its kind of shit box, at least my car. Bad ECU, Taillights leaking, rattles from everywhere, suspension problems, Keyless entry, electronic problems. Maybe when I get everything fixed, I will feel like a celebrity who overcame a plastic surgery, STDs and a colonic.

One time, I was cruising, my buddy in the passenger seat. Me with my shades on and my buddy's bald head shining in the sunlight. We pull up to a light and all of a sudden a Ferrari 355 pulled up next to us. He was an older guy with a pretty girl in the passenger seat. I, being the smartass I am, said, "Hey, what's the retail on one of those?"

The dude in the Ferrari looked at my car, clearly disapproved, and in a very high and mighty tone said, "More than you can afford pal. Ferrari"

At this point, my buddy was definitely displeased with how much of a d-bag this Ferrari driver was being, so he turns to me and says, "Smoke him."

I didn't need to be told twice.

I revved her up, and when the light turned green, I dropped that clutch and launched. The Ferrari did the same and got a bit of a lead on me. We blasted down the two-lane highway, weaving through traffic, changing gears ferociously. Then, I saw an opening and threw my thumbs down on my Nitrous buttons. With the nitrous flowing, I accelerated away and left the man in the Ferrari far behind. No doubt, he was reevaluating his life choices at that point.

Needless to say, both myself and my buddy were pleased, and we felt very much like celebrities. We pulled over and stopped at a quaint diner.

With the sun shining down on the crashing waves of the beautiful coastline, we ate shrimp and chatted. Feeling so fulfilled that a little Japanese car could bring us so much excitement.

Sigh....
I guess enjoy the fame while you have it, but the 86 will be very common in the coming years.
Please don't let the smug get to you.....

I get lots of attention any time I go to a car-related place. When I went to drop of my leased Mazda, everyone came out of the showroom to stare and ask questions. I must have spent an extra half hour there answering questions and talking about the car. To Mazda salesmen nonetheless.

Also, as someone stated earlier, college kids seem to just lose their shit when they see my car. Especially ones that seem to fall into the "bro" category.

I get at least one compliment a day when I go driving the FR-S. Yesterday I had an old man (at least upper 70's/maybe 80?) telling my how beautiful the car is. I wasn't expecting that!

For the time being yes lol. Well not really but it does garner great attention. I was getting gas Friday night and I over heard some young kids talking and saying they thought my car was a new Audi or something and I must be a bigshot. I just thought to myself, if they only new how broke and a commoner I really was lol.
