Does your FRS/BRZ make you feel like a celebrity?
 

I was driving earlier today down I-495 and noticed a SUV pull up to my left. I tried not to pay attention to it but eventually had to look at it. It was an army couple who were giving me all sorts of thumbs up and the *not bad* look when I looked over. I smiled, waved back and saluted them before I took my exit.

This is one of many events that happens on some random basis. Do you have a story to share?

Not sure what to expect over the coming months. I have owned my FR-S for 6 days and every single day has introduced a new encounter.

I have been approached at the gas station 2 times, at bojangles and noticed several people on the highways slowing down / speeding up to take a better look.

Today I was at topping the car off before the work week started and a car pulled up behind me with a couple of younger guys in it. They complimented me on the car and asked if it was special order.

On Friday I was at another gas station and heard a guy behind me say "Okay, I give up! What is it!?"
I turned around and he was looking at my FR-S. We talked about the car for a minute or two and he walked on into the gas station. On his way out he walked in front of the car as I was getting in and just looked at the grill, smiled and gave me a thumbs up.

I've had people literally jump out in front of my car in drive-throughs, to ask me what it is and ogle it. Not a day goes by where I don't get someone wanting to talk with me about it (latest of which was a cop, thankfully not in a position where I was having to answer questions or sign any tickets).

As someone who doesn't give two figs about what others think of his ride, and absolutely abhors the idea of driving a particular car to look cool or get chicks... it got kinda old kinda quick. I'm actually looking forward to the day when these are as common as Corvettes or Mustangs. :(

EDIT: Oh, and I've had mine since the very beginning of June.

Yeah. I feel like royalty every time I get in an turn the key. The thumbs up and compliments from total strangers doesn't hurt either...

People are always rolling down there windows and talking to me and starring like I can't see them lol

My wife always gets talk to buy guys all jelly !

I had a guy pull into the same gas station I pulled into just to ask me about the FRS and he left after, he goes I just pulled in to talk about the car its beautiful! and this happened like two days ago lol. But everytime the car comes out is always a new story

Not even Justin Beiber? I know he has a CTS-V and a modded smart fortwo. It's just a matter of time before we see him driving a flat black FR-S.

Jay Leno has one, he did a video about it already. Asks the guy what the weight of the car is like 72 times! Look iit up, its an interesting video.

The only thing I am not doing is signing autographs...

I dunno about celebrity... but it certainly makes me feel good to drive it :)

I had a compliment every day this weekend. A guy in the Giant Eagle parking lot told me he loved it, and the FR-Ss (I told him to go test drive one! it worked on me after all), another guy pulled up behind me in the gas station in an STI and complimented it, saying he missed his old RX-8. We chatted for a while, and I told him it was my DD and awesome - showed him the trunk and he complained a little about how much room I got with such a fun car. Apparently the STI is less fun - who knew?

Today my best friend said he liked it - kind of a gimme, but that's okay :)

I don't know about celebrity, but it does get a lot of attention. I've rolled down the window, been stopped at the parking garage, and had a lot of conversations at the gas station. Generally, they ask if it is a Subaru, ask what type, and compliment on how nice the car is.
