Question about the Asphalt Color Option

I saw a "dark gray metallic" BRZ today and was wondering how close this color was to Scion's Asphalt color (which is the color I want).

Are they close or are they one and the same?

Same and awesome, especially if you get the paint detailed and Opticoated.

Agreed with everyone. I'm still kind of shocked how common everyone says it is I have yet to see another one still.

Sorry for the ignorance, but what is Opticoating? Are we talking another paint finish or more of a 3m clear film that protects the paint?

Basically it is a permanent coating that protects automotive paint, supposedly for the life of the car. Unlike a wax or sealant, it will not wash or wear off. It acts as a second layer of clear coat which provides increased protection against the elements.

When i clean my car now, all I do a is quick rinse, wipe down with detailing spray, and I'm done....never have to wax again. Still looks the same the day I had it done. Here is a link to my car journel with a video of the guy who did the treatment.

Good luck
