The people that were like "whatever, it's just another storm" are the people you hear about in the news that didn't listen to evacuation notices and ended up losing their lives. Yeah natrual disasters happen all the time but how often to natural disasters as devestating as Sandy happen in areas like the Tristate. If you could see the amount of damage and mayhem this storm has caused you wouldn't be saying "stop freaking out." Michael Brown the former FEMA director and orchestrator of the largest human rights outrage in decades was in charge of the Hurricane Katrina aftermath. Don't know if you heard how awful of a job he did where you are but do you know what he had to say to New Yorkers after Sandy? "Chill out", sound familiar? People lost lives, homes, jobs; hell we can barely find gas here and people are fighting and pulling guns on people just to get a couple gallons to run a generator, there are people dumpster diving just to get a little bit of food, the subways were flooded so badly that with all the filth on the rails the smell literally made your face feel like it was burning, people have been coming into my dealer just to make phone calls to family members letting them know they're all right, most people have been without power since Sandy and won't get it back till around November 10th.

A category 1 in a metropolitan area like the the Tri-state is nothing short of devestating, and for it to come at a time like this when the USA is looking for ways to pull itself out of a recession... sigh it was terrible.

And I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything dude, I just don't like when I hear people writing off things like this just because it's out of sight out of mind. As logical human beings with the ability to think for themselves we know better than to buy in to all the doomsday rumors when they sound too outrageous...... well some of us at least. Not to mention the Mayan Calendar never took into account the whitey showing up on their shores. Oops.. kind of missed that major part of history in your predictions Mayans.

Mayans: Can predict the end of the world, but can't predict the white man. Can't explain that!

That video above was really interesting right up until I heard: "UFO spotted". At that point I was expecting them to tell me Pres. Bush brought down the two towers.

A lot of people don't truly understand how bad this storm was.
Until you Lose your fucking house don't say its not a big deal!

"out of sight, out of mind" Isn't that the truth.

Well I'm glad you guys are ok! :>

I live by the... "If you die then you die" kinda saying but sometimes its not the right thing to do.

What I'm really afraid of is people over-exaggerating the Mayan calender and then looting pre-apocolypse.

Again, I'm glad you guys are ok and I hope everything else you own is ok!

Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Meteorites, Rain, Snow, Wind, Volcanoes, Tsunami.

Wow. Crazy. I would never have thought that these things could happen. It's like we're experiencing things that have been happening for millions of years now. But it's happening right now in our few thousand years of recorded time.

I better just go lay down and get ready for the end of days.
